In case u want to know it tests for ETG.

Specializes in ER, ICU/CCU, Open Heart OR Recovery, Etc.

Congratulations!

I m done in 4 weeks.. been in for 3 years??? Had option one the whole time.....

What is option 1, mine is with First lab if that makes a difference and how far back does urine alcohol go vs etg (whatever that is) thanks

hi -- I hope to be done in five to six months. 3 1/2 yrs for DUI that I self reported. I once was told I had a positive. Paid to have the split tested because I was 10000000% sure I have done nothing and was told it was "sugar". It was the biggest nightmare. It really made me realise that I have no true recourse if this was a false positive. I have been fortunate and never even required an OTC medication. In Pennsylvania and have never been able to get test results -- not with LabCorp and not with RecoveryTrek.

Hi Kel65 - I was just wondering if you had an updated link for each option for recovery trek - I've been pulling option 8 and I know that onevtests for etg but I was curious about the others and if others pull the same number each time - I tried the link you suggested but it said that the website had been updated - thank you in advance

Had a positive for urine alcohol in the last month of my contract, they then ran an etg test on it. I was told THAT was positive too. To make a long story short, my caseworker messed around for a month, stalling, leading me down a garden path telling me that they had to discuss it. I know I didn't drink or use. It was scary, but I dug my heels in and kept on them to make a decision. Finally, I contacted the director of the program, who told me the etg was NEGATIVE and I was successfully discharged within one hour. I got copies of my lab tests. Turns out, the etg was negative the whole time. Weeks of hell, waiting and wondering, feeling very frustrated because I was getting stalled and knew I didn't drink. I don't have much faith in the system at all after that.

Well apparently coercion is not only part of recovery. So is bald-faced lying. These people are amoral cretins.

I'm waiting on my ETG results on a split for my second positive for alcohol on option 1 which is the basic urine ethanol. Not so stressful now that I know UTI can cause this. Very supportive case worker who told me no matter how many times this happens as long as the ETG is negative I'm fine.

But...It annoys me. The reading was .001 which my case work said is not really even reportable. But the lab reports it as positive so here we go down the path of being stone sober and waiting on secondary results worrying the lab will screw up. Chances are with chronic UTI's I'm gonna show that tiny trace. I just wonder why it pops positive now and then. The person who reads it making the decision to call a trace amount positive. The lab transit time so slow the bacteria grows. One more time and I'm trying a different lab other than my preferred Quest.

If sugar & UTI's cause false positives you gotta wonder why they don't simply test for ETG. I always get Option 3 (well not always but just about). Truthfully I have no idea what they are testing me for. I'm in on a DUI so it's probably ETG and a bunch of drugs I've never used but it is what it is & I try not to worry about it too much but I'm always worried about the dreaded false positive

I'm in for alcohol too. How ironic the false positives. Option 3 is EGT, everything down from 3 is. I asked my case worker if they could just pick one of those, but they have their rules. If this were to come back positive we move to peth. And of course, here we go. Option 1 today.

Is there any reason why people keep asking for this numbers??? All of them are 12 panel drug tests, with added testings for tramadol, prescription drugs, alcohol, synthetic drugs and so on. So regardless of what option you'll be getting a 12 panel. If you're an alcoholic, have a dwi or dui, expect an alcohol test on all yours regardless of the option. Don't be filled by numbers.

I think ETOH stays in urine for up to a day unless you drank like a bucket of whiskey. The EtG marker sticks around for up to 80 hours * PETH (blood test) for three weeks. All tests have limitations and are subject to throwing a false positive. Please note this is me going from memory so I give no guarantees of accuracy. I worry about false positives constantly. There is little I can do about it except monitor what I put in or on my body. I will not drink or drug while in this program but I do worry about ingesting something that will make the BON think I am unwittingly.

Kind of a late reply- but this is the most recent information I've seen on the drug testing... do the recovery trek options correlate to first source options? I'm just curious- I had my evaluation urinalysis on Friday and I was told to choose option 1 for first source... I figure it is a health professional screen but I was wondering if it included ethanol or etg... if this is the same as recovery trek than I would assume it tacks on ethanol and not etg? I know this is a redundant question... but I haven't seen much on first source options. I guess it doesn't really matter- but even court let's you know what your dropping for. :/ (I may or may not be entering hprp in MI).
