My guess is that it happens a lot more than we know. You probably won't get a lot of answers to your post for just that reason.
If a poster is not careful about the amount they give of the details, the doors for honest discussion might turn into doors hitting them on the butt on the way out...
I haven't found anyone that I am sure that I know on here...but some that I think I do.
I've never recognized anyone here, that's not to say that someone might have recognized me at some point. I try to keep my posts vague enough to disclose only minimal identifying info, though I'm sure I've left enough clues.
In an age where employers monitor off-duty employees via MySpace and Facebook, one can't be too careful.
I think I recognize everyone here because it seems all hospitals are walking in lock step with each other, ie press ganey grief, comfort rounds, too heavy pt care loads, etc.
Obviously no one in hospital management has an original thought in their head; they just copy what some other hospital is doing without figuring out if it will really work.
But I would never reveal my name or hospital; no reason to put a target on my back.
I guess if you had something that required being somewhat revealing, you could just dump your old name here, and start a new ID, then drop that one, or build an alter ego, also known as a "sock" or a "sockpuppet".
I just don't post identifying info, but if I needed to reveal a really bad bad whatever, I'd probably change my online personna.

I try pretty hard to remain anonymous on this forum - wont' divulge how. I see others describing situations in very detailed posts, also listing state info or a supposedly first name. Wondering if anyone has ever had the experience of someone recognizing the situation described in the post and knowing that the post is about problems with that person. I imagine that could cause real problems at work. Currently in a situation where my coworker seems to know something "by osmosis", wondering if this could be how or if the coworker is fishing.
