Recent Arrest

My driver's license is suspended (and has been for 10 years), I have outstanding tickets for miscellaneous traffic's stops, and eventually had warrants issued. I was pulled over for running a stop sign the other day, and was arrested. There was weed in the car. It wasn't mine.

This pullover and arrest happened between application to CRNA school and acceptance to CRNA school. Now I'm worried about the background check. I haven't been to court yet. My attorney has assured me he can get it dismissed. My initiation of my background check for the CRNA program has to be started 2 days before my court date.

Any advice?

Depending on your state's certification requirements, it is not looking good for you and your career choice. I would suggest that you wait to start school until you have cleared up your pending charges. You don't sound ready to take on the responsibilities the position requires.

How many times have I heard, the weed, drugs, alcohol in the car weren't mine when I worked for the BON in my state. Oh my goodness, as the previous poster stated, please wait until you have gotten yourself together before you attempt to learn an advanced nursing role.

You most likely will not be accepted into the program after any background check is completed. You may have your RN license called into question as well it should be.
