Hello everyone,
I will be taking the NCLEX for the first time on July 7th and I am freaking out. So far everyone that i know who has already taken it has passed and I dont know if thats a good sign or if each situation is independent of others. My sister took it yesterday and passed at 75 questions and I am really proud of her!!!! But now I feel the pressure is on even more. I initially chose the 31st of July, then I moved it up to the 22nd and now finally the 7th. I feel like the longer I wait, the more tension builds up and I just want to get it over with. Ive been doing 100+ question per day from Saunders and Kaplan, but I still feel like Im missing something. Im really worried because i suck at SATA and i know that accounts for a good chunk of the test. Any advice?????? Please help me rest my nerves...a lot is riding on this one test :'(

I'm testing the same day as you! :) I can't wait to get this test over with...so tired of studying. As far as SATA use the strategy from the Kaplan book (looking at each answer choice seperately). I've seen some people post saying they only had 5 or 6 SATA and others said it was half of their test. I'm hoping I get the 5 or 6 because I'm not a fan of them either. Good luck!

If you notice on the test that you are getting alot of SATA then that is usually a good thing because it means you are answering questions at the higher level of difficulty.
Remember you are allowed to miss questions on NCLEX, the way you pass or fail is by what level of difficulty you are answering them. If your seeing SATA your at the high level.
I studied the same way you did and I passed last week so I think you will be just fine.
Just a little warning, when you are done with the test you will probably feel like you failed but dont despair, everyone feels that way and the majority of people do just fine!!
Good Luck! I know you can pass this!!

I took mine about 3 weeks ago and I passed, yeah! The best advice is to know your basics and critically think each question. Picture yourself as a nurse standing at the bedside with a patient. Good Luck!
ps. You will feel like crap until you get your official results. I wish someone would of let me known that before hand.

I think that some SATA are lower-level questions, though... it depends on the actual question. I don't think you can guess how you are doing based on the SATA, because I've seen it both ways, people who passed in 75 with a lot of them, and people who passed in 75 with only a few of them. Either way, I hate them, too!

SATA is just another format style of question and could be either lower or higher level. I have seen members pass and fail with many or none so it does vary
