Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2012

Published

ooops... The other one had 2011 instead of 2012... let's try this again:

Just thought I would start a new thread for the current application cycle. Questions... stats... rumors... etc!

My question is... for those applying this cycle, how did you do on the TEAS V? Since this is the first year they are using this test, it would be nice to see how everyone is doing.

(Please don't post TEAS 3 or TEAS 4 results, as the scores are NOT comparable with the TEAS V.)

Yes I got through the tax notification link. My nursing GPA was never posted.

Yea, my gpa wasn't posted either.

@Marija2012: can you please tell us your stats if you don't mind?

My GPA 3.70, Teas 70, and A&P B+. I worked so hard to complete all my prerequisites for nothing. Good luck to all of you.

@Marija2012: wow, very good stats! I'm surprised you are waitlisted! It seems like it was very competitive :( I'm so sorry! I saw just one on here who got accepted and at least 5 others who were waitlisted, kind of weird...I'm not sure if that is really true or if that decision will change for them..

Any one hear from gateway I find it weird how it is the only school to not have a way to check only through the mail. I have posted this before but I have a guy who I work with at Yale that was number 16 on the waitlist and they called him the day of to start class at 2. So PLEASE dont give up on yourself! We are all in the same boat with great GPAs Good TEAS and good AP1 grades.. Its so hard to say what is going to happen!

hmm.. not sure text some classmates. last year i was waitlisted at gwcc and texted some clasmates.. we all saw we were waitlited via nursing page before the letters went out however, the students that were accepted never had their pages updated.

hey guys! this might be off topic...but....seriously...don't get crazy because of that application! i haven't heard anything yet about my status...but I had a problem two weeks ago, I got the "inegilibly letter" from the State of CT saying that I'm not accepted bc I was missing a transcript from a different college! It was the schools fault, as I had the proof that the school received my transcript two years ago...I was so mad that I drove 6hours that day between waterbury CT and upstate NY to get that transcript and hand it in PERSONALLY. I made it before that deadline of March 26th. In the past two weeks I didn't eat/drink/sleep well enough, and yesterday I went to the emergency room because I've had had very bad abdominal pains for over 2 days now...they couldn't find what it is exactly. anyways...just wanted to say...don't go crazy! we can always re-apply next year and in the meantime we can study more to get better GPAs and TEAS scores. Just don't get sick! Right now I'm laughing about how stupid I was that I was so worried about it, cause I got myself sick. But I know I might stop laughing tomorrow when I get the letter hahaha :( HAVE A GREAT DAY and HAPPY EASTER!!! forget about the application for a least one day (today) and enjoy spending it with friends and family :)

Nursewannabe those are kind words. I am currently typing this from bed missing work and dinner bc I've come down with the flu( I've never had it before...gosh its awful awful!). So, you're totally right! Haven't been this stressed in a long time...hope that you're feeling better too!

Hey guys last year this time I was sitting around my dining table bawling when I opened the page and got wait-listed for Gateway. I thought it was unfair as so many people that I helped with their A&P got in and I didn't. There were 5 persons in my study group and I was the only one who did not get accepted. I was number 21 on the wait-list. This year I did not put all my eggs in one basket and within four weeks of applying to Bridgeport, I got an acceptance letter. I still applied to Gateway and have checked my page and there is nothing on it about accepted or wait-listed. Frankly, now I don't feel bad because sometimes we want something so bad but God may not feel its the right time. So for those of you who did not get in, there is always next year. This might just not be your year but like me, yours will come. Cheer up, toughen up and full speed ahead. Do your other courses while you wait until next year. I know your pain, I felt your pain and that's why I can say - there is always next year. Congrats to those who got in, work hard and remember many other deserving people could have done well with our spaces, so we shouldn't waste it.

i can recall someone hearing from gateway on here.... maybe look through the last few pages!!!

Has anyone yet filed their FAFSA? Also, any idea on when co-reqs for the program get evaluated and recognized? Im wondering if I should register for Psych, even though I've taken it at SJC, just in case I get in and they don't accept it?
