Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2011

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hello all,

It's almost that time of year again! I'm applying to the 2011 class which the application period begins this November 1st. We have two months to prepare our applications! Anyone else applying? I've seen the support the last year's class has with this sort of thread and I figured there should be one started for 2011 applicants. What is your TEAS score? GPA? A&P I grade? What were the averages that the 2010 applicants had and they are now starting the fall 2010 program?? Good luck!!!

Hi Josie, that would be great. I'm new to this site and haven't looked into how to send a personal message to someone so if you know how just drop me a line or we can just meet up on June 17!

Laura

I can't find an envelope either. By the way my name is actually Michelle. JosieD is my dog :D

Oh yeah. It would be nice to meet fellow nursing students prior to starting the program. Maybe we can set up a meet and greet.

nef,

they are changing the amount of applicants as the years go on. I believe they accepted 30 something for January 2012 not many applicants, but I am sure everyone heard the same thing (amt of applicants) so i am sure the numbers will jump the following year. The max they will end up taking in 48 like the rest of the colleges

Is anyone as anxious as I am for orientation?? :)

Hi Michelle,

I guess until we have 15 posts we wont be able to IM one another. Why don't you just email me at [email protected]. I will ttys, I think a meet and greet is a wonderful idea, perhaps at some place like Panera?

I'm a little confused... maybe some of you guys can help!

My letter from Norwalk said orientation was in mid-late August... how are some of you getting assigned reading over the summer? I realize some of you have orientation a few months earlier (lucky you!) but aren't we all doing the same program/same timing?

Also, did you get that kind of information, or stuff about immunizations/CPR, etc... in a 2nd packet of info, or just with your acceptance letter? I feel like I got very little info. Is there a 2nd mailing after they get my letter accepting the seat? I just mailed it a few days ago...

Just feels like I have NO info... blech!

I'm not sure about Norwalk, I am going to Capital and our orientation is June 17th. All the information came in the initial envelope, there were two letters. In the second letter from the nursing director the information about CPR, dosage calculation prep, was on the backside of her letter. You are attending Fall 2011? I know some of the schools have a Jan 2012 start but I'm not familiar with which ones. Hope this helps!

Where did you order them from? I don't have any concrete information from the school as to what guidelines are required for apparel but I did read somewhere on the boards that you could not wear open backs, or anything with a logo. Do you know if this includes nurse mates with the little blue logo?

I went to the walking company they have that computer thing to get your exact size. I tried on Dansko shoes but the traditional ones, I did not like. I loved the Kelsey Dansko shoes, they were so comfy. I had foot surgery in January so I'm very picky about shoes now, these are all white with no color or obvious logo. Good arch support yet squishy. I think they will work for me.

Thank you for lmk. I like the nurse mate callie but I'm not sure how comfortable they would be compared to the dansko and I would probably have to excise the little blue heart! :lol2:

I was going to just order online but I don't want to take a chance when it comes to comfort!

Is a little blue heart an issue?
