Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2011

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hello all,

It's almost that time of year again! I'm applying to the 2011 class which the application period begins this November 1st. We have two months to prepare our applications! Anyone else applying? I've seen the support the last year's class has with this sort of thread and I figured there should be one started for 2011 applicants. What is your TEAS score? GPA? A&P I grade? What were the averages that the 2010 applicants had and they are now starting the fall 2010 program?? Good luck!!!

Got into Capital! A in both A+P I, II, 91 on TEAS and 3.2 GPA. Eight straight months of pre-requisites, well worth it, this will definitely help me get through the last 4 weeks of classes, LOL! I'm still dancing and smiling!! :clpty:

Good luck to everyone on wait list. If anyone is interested in putting together a study group in the Somers/Enfield area, plmk!! Ciao!

Spachild, I am willing to travel for study sessions! I took most of my pre-reqs at ACC and am not far from Enfield. I was really worried I would have trouble finding new study buddies!

Jdoll, I know someone that got it to NCCC. How are you doing? How long is your break between spring and summer classes?[/quote

I am amazed at how fast things go! It is great at Northwestern. I like that it is a small group. We have our final on the 9th of May and go back on June 6th. not bad. Congrats to you

OMG! I really excited now! Was Norwalk your 1st choice? It was for me. I put GWCC 2nd, but I know a couple of people who went to Norwalk, loved the prog. and really did well. Do u think u will care about the commute? Or do u not mind? What school are u currently attending if you don't mind me asking? I'm at GWCC right now. We'll have to exchange info so we can meet up at orientation! Can't wait.

JaRoJoCT... Norwalk was my 1st choice this year. I tried Gateway last year & got wait-listed... A few people told me that a ton more people applied to GWCC since they have the night-time program... so I figured I would rather commute a little farther & get in than wait another year! I'm a little nervous about the commute, but at this point, anything will be tolerable as I've been waiting for this for a long time. I've driven it a few times & it has taken anywhere from 30-55 minutes. Then again, I'm sure I haven't seen the worst of it : ( I re-took some pre-reqs at Housatonic this year, though I got my degree in upstate NY... I'll be looking forward to seeing you at orientation... the time cannot fly fast enough!!!

What is the shedule like for norwalk?

Does anyone know if there will be letters sent out for second and third choice schools? Has anyone heard from their second or third choices?

Does it work that way? I thought 2nd and 3rd choice was used if there was not enough applicants at each school. I would assume each school has a waiting list.

I actually live in that area! Thinking about finding an apt closer to Capital though for commuting reasons/my car is not all that reliable. I would love to set up some sort of study group.

If you did not get in to your first choice, when each school finishes with there waiting list the go to the list of second choices.

Hi Josie, that would be great. I'm new to this site and haven't looked into how to send a personal message to someone so if you know how just drop me a line or we can just meet up on June 17!

Hi Mixy! That would be great - JosieD may also be interested in study group. I need to read up on how to IM or email personally on this blog but in the meantime if you know how to please contact me, so happy there are a few people interested in study groups - another great way to learn!

PLMK, thanks,

Laura
