Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2011

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hello all,

It's almost that time of year again! I'm applying to the 2011 class which the application period begins this November 1st. We have two months to prepare our applications! Anyone else applying? I've seen the support the last year's class has with this sort of thread and I figured there should be one started for 2011 applicants. What is your TEAS score? GPA? A&P I grade? What were the averages that the 2010 applicants had and they are now starting the fall 2010 program?? Good luck!!!

I'm not sure about Norwalk, I am going to Capital and our orientation is June 17th. All the information came in the initial envelope, there were two letters. In the second letter from the nursing director the information about CPR, dosage calculation prep, was on the backside of her letter. You are attending Fall 2011? I know some of the schools have a Jan 2012 start but I'm not familiar with which ones. Hope this helps!

What did Capital suggest for dosage calc prep?

Is a little blue heart an issue?

LOL, I don't really know, I wouldn't think so but it did indicate no logos and that is their logo! I guess I will wait for the seminar, in the meantime I will have plenty of time to try on shoes. :yeah:

They didn't yet - the letter indicated information (book/dvd) will be given out at June 17 seminar. ;)

I recall reading somewhere on the boards a few of you needed to still take Microbio. I took most of my pre-reqs at Colorado Northwestern CC. They have a great nursing program and you can take most of their science with lab classes online. The labs are a bit pricey and are mailed to your house but they are great labs.

I checked it out for summer courses and there is a Micro course being offered from June 6-Aug. 14. Remember, it's through their CCCOnline program.

thanks spachild for all the great info! :)

Did the course credit transfer for the CT community colleges, and did they accept it as a legit class?

Yes, all my credits transferred 1:1. They accepted all of them as pre-req's and my commnet page has that confirmed as well. As always though, be sure you check with the counselors. I usually speak with ****. Good luck!

Happy to help! :D

nef,

they are changing the amount of applicants as the years go on. I believe they accepted 30 something for January 2012 not many applicants, but I am sure everyone heard the same thing (amt of applicants) so i am sure the numbers will jump the following year. The max they will end up taking in 48 like the rest of the colleges

Thanks for your response. I am going to an info session in may. I like the idea that it is accelereated. Is class / clinicals only three days a week?

Got into NVCC for the fall!:yeah:

Congrats:yeah:

OK the math you will find out when you get there. You don't have a math exam until at least the sixth week so relax. Its easy and they give you the two formulas you need. The shoes, just get a pair of running shoes that are all white. And buy a pair of knee high compression stockings which dramatically helps your feet and legs..trust me!
