Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2011

Published

Hello all,

It's almost that time of year again! I'm applying to the 2011 class which the application period begins this November 1st. We have two months to prepare our applications! Anyone else applying? I've seen the support the last year's class has with this sort of thread and I figured there should be one started for 2011 applicants. What is your TEAS score? GPA? A&P I grade? What were the averages that the 2010 applicants had and they are now starting the fall 2010 program?? Good luck!!!

I don't want it now... hahaha :lol2:

I am too scared!

ME TOO!

Thanks I will look into having my fafsa changed. I made up two schedules for fall based on if i get accepted or not. If I don't get an acceptance or rejection letter before it is time for fall registration, I will schedule myself as if I didn't get in. Then when the letters come if I was rejected I still have classes, and if I did get accepted I can always drop what I have and re-register for the nursing courses. I also thought about trying to register for the nursing course and see what happens. :D

I couldn't take micro this summer due to an academic research project i'm involved in and i would have missed 4 classes so i decided not to register. Plus I don't have the money without fin aid. Does anyone know when micro has to be taken by? Assuming we get in, does it have to be completed before our first semester in nursing? Could we take it next summer? I called and asked the pre-nursing and nursing advisor but I haven't heard anything back yet.

I know that it is usually taken the first semester of Nursing, I am not sure about taking after that semster. I know that they do suggest having it done before starting nursing mainly to make your life easier. It will work out :)

They do encourage you to take micro before the nursing program to lighten your load. You can take it in the fall semester. If it's your only option and you put your time and mind into it I'm sure you can pull it off. What other choice do you have? Good luck:D The wait is killing me!!!!!!!!

gateway has a hybrid class for a mo. in the summer with ****** - you should check as it fills up fast. it is 2 nights a week and very easy!

thank you very much for the suggestions! good luck as well!

guys can i please remind everyone of the terms of service of the site and not to post names of instructors etc from your nursing school

no potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.

2. while this site is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.

3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

It's a prerequisite for a class we take during the fall semester of our second year. So I'm almost positive we can take it next summer if we needed to. I lost track of time and went to sign up for micro at NVCC at 12:05 and it was full so if I don't get into one this summer I'll probably take it next summer

There are still some classes available at gateway.

Micro needs to be completed during your first semester of nursing school. Keep your eyes open for summer micro classes. If they do not pay in time they get kick out and a spot opens. I am currently in the first year and very glad I already took Micro and all other classes except nursing. We do have some ppl in class that are taking micro and nursing and they are very stressed!!!!!!!!
