Weatherford College has one starting up soon, I think. It is about 30-40 minutes west of Fort Worth depending where you are coming from, but the classroom portion is done online so travel might not be too bad.
thank you so much. is the refresher course provided by el centro college and dallas methodist hospital the same?

There is a PHES Nurse Refresher class in June in Plano with clinical options in Dallas, Plano, Lewisville, and McKinney. Google PHES Nurse Refresher for more info or call toll free 877-313-7437.
thank you

Have you checked with the TX BON? The state BONs maintain lists of the refresher courses they have approved (for the people they require to take a course).

Hi melcah 28,
Will you share your experience at Methodist? I'm just curious as I am looking into it as well.
Perhaps just the highs and lows of the program... I guess I just wanted to know what to expect.
Thanks a lot.

I just completed Collin County Community College in McKinney program. Most of the program is online. There was an optional orientation class, 2 mandatory lab skill days, an exit meeting and 80 hours of precepting. They tried to get a precpeting site that you request but that depends on the facility accepting not Collin College. It was not hard. I had to read med/surg text, skills text, and pharmocology text. We had to pass a medication calculations test. Its nothing like nursing school, as in the refresher course we are all RNs with various experiences.

Hi Guys! Just wanna know if anyone went through the Methodist Refresher course succesfully? I recently passed the RN exam and I need some idea on how to go over the refresher course. So how many hours is it? How is the set up and how much is the tuition all in all? Thanks Guys!
