Hi everyone I'm in my 3rd semester of nursing school and have 1 more left to graduate. Tonight we had are 2nd test in med surg and I failed. This is the 1st test that I have failed in nursing school and I'm so upset I cant stop crying and I'm so afraid I wont make it through this semester. I still have 2 more test and a final but I'm switching over to ob/pedi and everyone who has taking it has said that if you don't do well in med surg you aren't going to pass the semester. I failed the test by 3 points but as you all know in nursing that's a lot. I'm so bummed.

Well, it's your third semester. You've done something right up to this point, so stay the course. It's just one test, it doesn't mean anything in the long run.
See your professors, find out where you went wrong, and go from there! You've done well until now, so this is really just a minor setback.

You've got 2 more tests and a final. You can do this. In Med Surg, 'half the class' is always failing and fretting over their status until the final grades post.
If you were making 40's and such I'd say, 'Panic!' LOL But, 3 points short of a passing grade?
You can still pull it out.
I second MISSMOLLIE. Speak with your professor and knock out your quizzes/homework, if you've got them. You need all the points you can get.
Thank you I'm feeling more positive today now that the initial shock and upset have worn off. My school doesn't give quizzes or any extra credit/points except for 1 point on a proctored ati so I'm just going to have to work extra hard to make sure I do well on the next 2 test and finals. Again thank you for your words of encouragement it definitely helps!

Well what's done is done. All you can do now is focus and work hard on getting a good grade on your next test. I understand how you're feeling, but don't dwell on it or you'll feel worse!

Well now, when you talk to the class below you, you can tell them the advice you got was wrong. =) You can do it! Just keep persevering and by the time you turn around this semester will be over and you will be one semester closer to being a nurse! One test does not make or break the fact that you're gonna succeed.
