Hello all! I haven't seen a page for Spring 2019 hopefuls yet, so I'm creating this one. If anyone has any comments/concerns/questions please post!
To start: RCC is in the early stages of developing a concurrent BSN program starting estimated Fall 2019. From what I remember at the info session, it will be about $15k and done through either CSUF or CSUSB. They are hoping to have 50% concurrent enrollment initially, and 100% later on. They are supposed to be meeting later this year (October-ish) to discuss it. I'm excited to learn more! It's definitely worth keeping up on if any of you are interested in pursuing your BSN afterwards.
Hi guys, I have applied for the Spring 2019 start at RCC. I have 71 points so I am hoping to be in the clear. My birthday is the 13th so hopefully no bad news that day lol lets hope we find out sooner than later. Does anyone know how soon orientation is after the emails are sent out? based on previous semesters?
Hi guys I'm also applying for rcc spring 2019. I keep on like biting my fingers while thinking about how much longer we have till the emails go out. I am going in with 70 points which seems to be good enough to get in I hope. I lost some points with my science gpa, was pregnant going through my physiology class which was harder than I thought at the time. Was bummed to see how much that affected my points. Although it is nice to see the previous semesters points, and the comments on how everything went. It is also great to see how the points are for our semester going in, very excited to start nursing school. I keep on wanting to email Steve to see if he added up the points yet, but I keep on telling myself to wait because I'm sure he has tons of emails. Two weeks cannot pass by fast enough. I am hoping it send it out the 14th which is a Friday and not delay it longer than that.
Last semester they actually sent them out on a Thursday! However, it appears that the norm is to send emails on a Friday. So who really knows! Lol.
Hi everyone, I was just curious if anyone knows from following/past experience if they send rejection letters and if so do they go out around the same time as the acceptance letters?
Yes they send rejection letters at the same time (I received my rejection letter at 11:07AM on a Thursday). I'm not sure what the total time-span is for all letters to be sent though, alternates included. I read somewhere here on allnurses that about a week before their cohort started, one of the alternates was selected for the program!

I don't know when it all starts, but I would estimate the first or second week of 2019. I'm also hopefully assuming they will give some more info beyond "Congratulations - you got in!" in their acceptance emails. After all, the holidays are just around the corner, so everyone would be left in the dark for a few weeks if they didn't. Happy early birthday, by the way!
Guys!!! I am starting to get impatient. Do you really think it will be next week when we find out?! I am so excited to meet all of you. Anyone going to be driving from the High Desert? I am, and I have every intention of keeping my job in Labor and Delivery all the way on Ft. Irwin. My DON says they're going to allow me to have a flexible schedule.. I just cannot walk away from it, best job in the entire world. Anyone else plan on working, or have tiny kiddos at home like me?
I read somewhere, I cannot remember where so don't take this literally, that classes begin sometime in Feb. I assume orientation will be sometime in January. I just want to know already so I can get my books and start reading!! Goodbye social life!

OMG I think we know each other! Did you take Dr. Ranney last Fall at Barstow?! I would also be driving from the High Desert. It's about 45 miles for me, and while I don't mind the drive so much, I'm mostly worried about the traffic that plagues the 15 every now and again! I wouldn't be able to keep my current job (I work in a bakery-cafe) because I couldn't commit to the 40 hrs/wk they require. Which is totally OK, because it's been driving me nuts working there for some time now. I have been thinking about possibly working weekends for my aunt who recently started her own maid business. If anyone is looking for work, I can forward you some job info! I'm not entirely sure how it works, but it seems flexible enough!
I can't believe we're down to one week! Good luck everyone!! :)
Omg!!! We totally do know each other then! I did, I love her. I am so so so bad with names, where did you sit? Are you in VV or Barstow? Also, did you apply to VVC too? I've already been accepted there but I don't want to wait and now knowing that there is a concurrent CSUF enrollment, I can't pass it up.
It's ok, I am too sometimes! Lol. I actually couldn't remember yours at first this morning, except for L, and literally had to google names that start with L because I have a chicken brain sometimes, haha! My name's Samantha, I sat in the row in front of you during lecture. I'm in Victorville, but no, I didn't apply to VVC. I just can't fathom waiting years to start! I can barely wait this next week out, lol. RCC is the only school I've applied to, so fingers crossed!
Girl I don't know, I have been checking my email seriously, like 10 times a day!! I called Steve and asked if they were going to be sent out email/mail just because I wanted to hear his voice and ensure someone was still there lol!!! He told me on Monday "they will be sent out via email within the week". I tried to keep my composure, not asking what day lol!! I HOPE TOMORROW!!! Good luck!
