Hello all! I haven't seen a page for Spring 2019 hopefuls yet, so I'm creating this one. If anyone has any comments/concerns/questions please post!
To start: RCC is in the early stages of developing a concurrent BSN program starting estimated Fall 2019. From what I remember at the info session, it will be about $15k and done through either CSUF or CSUSB. They are hoping to have 50% concurrent enrollment initially, and 100% later on. They are supposed to be meeting later this year (October-ish) to discuss it. I'm excited to learn more! It's definitely worth keeping up on if any of you are interested in pursuing your BSN afterwards.
Hey everyone! I am soooo excited and so nervous about this pool of applicants. I am praying we all get in. I don't want to wait anymore! I'm sitting with 80ish points, hoping that's enough-I didn't do as well on my TEAs as I had hoped but it is what it is. I got an invite from RCC to take theirs but because I took it already, they wouldn't accept my second score anyway.. so here I am. I hope to see all of you guys soon! All previous threads show acceptance emails around the 15th-22nd of December!!!!
Good luck everyone!
Hey guys,I'm a bit confused from looking at the points system. It says that the general education aren't required for admission but they use it for their points system? what if someone isn't done with a class then how would they calculate it?
They would just calculate your gpa out of whatever number of classes you have completed instead of the 12. They just recommend you have them all done initially, because the nursing program is already full-time, and you can't graduate unless those are done.
Do you know if you are aloud to retake a class for a higher grade? I want to retake my english class for a higher grade because I got a C in it. Or do they only look at your first attempt?
The way I understand it, is most schools will let you retake if you did not pass. However, if you passed you may have to retake it at another school or petition to retake it. Every school is different, so definitely check with counselors!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's whatever grade is better. Basically, from what I understand, you list your course in the application with the grade you received, and they verify through transcripts. I don't think they look at other classes, as long as you have a grade for the class you said you did.
oooo okay. This may sound like a dumb question but do you know if they round up when calculating points? like say you have a 3.33 gpa for anatomy, physiology, and microbiology... would they round you to a 3.5 and get 30 points or would u be at a 3.00 and get 25 points? :/
They don't round The points system will change again for the next application period, though, because they will be requiring Statistics then.

Thank you for the information. I have been studying but just a mental block I guess. I am planning on taking the exam on the 9th so doing my best to not slack off. Good luck to everyone! Hopefully I will be in the 70's and that will be enough to gain entrance to the program.
