RCC Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all! I haven't seen a page for Spring 2019 hopefuls yet, so I'm creating this one. If anyone has any comments/concerns/questions please post!

To start: RCC is in the early stages of developing a concurrent BSN program starting estimated Fall 2019. From what I remember at the info session, it will be about $15k and done through either CSUF or CSUSB. They are hoping to have 50% concurrent enrollment initially, and 100% later on. They are supposed to be meeting later this year (October-ish) to discuss it. I'm excited to learn more! It's definitely worth keeping up on if any of you are interested in pursuing your BSN afterwards.

omg sorry about all the questions but I keep trying to contact RCC nursing department but they haven't answered their phone nor their emails! But the teas doesn't have to be already done by the time of application right? You can take it even after the application deadline?

It's okay! It totally keeps my mind off of waiting so much, LOL! The TEAS is not due at the time of application, but is due about a month before acceptances/denials are sent out. This application period it was due Nov. 14th. For Spring, I believe it's around the first/second week of May. Only course transcripts are due by the application deadline.

Oh I am applying for Fall 2019... what did u get on the Teas??

First time 84, and 89 the second.

Roughly 2.5 weeks before we find out!! :o At least I have birthdays and the holiday to help keep me busy until then! How is everyone else keeping busy?

Hi Everyone!! I hope ya'll are as impatient as I am regarding these accceptance emails! I have been on the edge of my seat for weeks waiting to see if there is any correspondence regarding our letters or dates that anyone may or may not have heard about! I do however, have a few questions if any of you are up..

1-What the heck is the "bootcamp"? I have seen this on a few threads and never attended info-sessions so please, fill me in.

2-How many points is everyone going in with!?

3-Any other LVN's like me applying!?

Hope to hear from you guys soon and, as always.. GOOD LUCK to you all!

Working! Like crazy, but checking my email too much. You seem to be very well-rounded regarding how this whole process works, is this your first time applying!?

If you mean me, thank you? Lol. And no it's my second time applying. I've just scoured these boards learning things, and have attended one info session. As for boot camp and what-not, I have NO idea how it all works. It seems like once everyone gets their emails they disappear from this site and onto facebook lol.

I wish I could be a creeper and read what they say, haha! I haven't seen much about the bootcamp, I can't imagine it would be anything too intense. I am so nervous to find out if I got in or not! This is my first time applying, if you don't mind me asking-- How many points did you have this time vs. the first time? I am going in with 75 points, it worries me. Every where else I have over 90 points out of a 100 point system, so I am praying it's enough. Are you nervous!?

Can't wait to find out in a couple of weeks! I've been working and cleaning a lot, and also preparing for Christmas while waiting.

You should be just fine with 75 points!! From what I heard, the cut off has been around 69 points the last couple of semesters. And I'm also really curious about bootcamp! So far, all I know is that we get our syllabus early and have an opportunity to get a headstart on our reading.

Last time I only had 64 points, but I'm going in with 73 this go! I met with the counselor a few months ago to go over my app/points, and she said 69 has been just about the cut-off, as morganashley stated. I was so bummed when I didn't get in last semester! I'm pretty sure you're good with 75 points. The counselor said since they've changed the point system, anything over 70 has been good. While it made me feel better at the time, you never know how strong the application pool is for that semester! So, yes, I am sooo nervous too!

Yes! At least we have the holidays! I have 4 days off now from a 9-day work run, so I'm gonna get busy with cleaning, wrapping some presents, and do some holiday baking! I'm also getting ready for a Christmas vacation that starts December 14th-- the day I'm estimating we'll find out! Hopefully I won't spend it super bummed out! Lol.

Hi guys I'm also applying for rcc spring 2019. I keep on like biting my fingers while thinking about how much longer we have till the emails go out. I am going in with 70 points which seems to be good enough to get in I hope. I lost some points with my science gpa, was pregnant going through my physiology class which was harder than I thought at the time. Was bummed to see how much that affected my points. Although it is nice to see the previous semesters points, and the comments on how everything went. It is also great to see how the points are for our semester going in, very excited to start nursing school. I keep on wanting to email Steve to see if he added up the points yet, but I keep on telling myself to wait because I'm sure he has tons of emails. Two weeks cannot pass by fast enough. I am hoping it send it out the 14th which is a Friday and not delay it longer than that.
