Hello! I thought I'd start this thread for anyone who is applying for the RN program at Riverside City College for Fall 2019! Let's all chat! :)

great. I applied for both also. Do you know when we got accepted or denied? by mail or email? thank you.

I believe it’s via email and early March is when we find out.

I'm pretty sure acceptances/denials will all be sent by mid march the latest via email!

Is anyone taking the TEAS tomorrow? morning? Good luck and let us know how it goes! ? I’m so nervous to take mine Thursday!

Good luck to those taking the test today! Let us know how it goes! I’m also super nervous about taking it tomorrow, but I’m also eager to be done so I can finally take a deep breath. The anxiety is real, y’all.

So I took practice test A a few months ago without doing any studying and scored a 76%. Today, after studying for almost 3 weeks, I took test B and scored a 72%. I am FREAKING out and feeling really discouraged :( I’m just praying the the actual exam is easier.

The same exact thing happened to me with test B! I scored an 82 on A and then a 77 on B. That was the day before yesterday after a TON of studying. I felt totally discouraged, too. It sounds like the real thing is slightly easier, so I’m holding onto that hope.

It’s the worst feeling! However, I can say my testing environment wasn’t very good today & it sounds like test B is harder, so I’m hoping that has something to do with it. We shall see. Good luck to us!

If you’re reading this, you’re probably done with your TEAS! ???

I just wanted to add some things I didn’t mention before that I learned at the pre-nursing workshop the other day. For Spring 2020, they will be slightly changing the Multicriteria Point System. They are trying to make Statistics a requirement - that means that there will no longer be a Criteria 8 worth 4 points for Math 12-Statistics with a “C” or better. Instead, the Statistics grade will be included in Criteria 2b, under General Ed Courses GPA. They are still in the process of approving this change, so the point values for each Criteria 1-8 are all subject to change, with the possibility of Criteria 8 completely being eliminated from the Multicriteria Point System.

Also, many may know now that RCC only takes the first passing score of the TEAS exam. I learned that every time the TEAS exam version changes (for example, the latest TEAS change from Version 5 to Version 6), you are able to improve your TEAS score. For example, if on your first try, you scored a 73% on Version 6 of the TEAS (the current version now), when the new Version 7 of the TEAS comes out, you take this new TEAS Version 7 and score an 89% - this is your first passing score for this new version of the TEAS. This first passing score for the newer TEAS will replace the first passing score for the older TEAS (I hope this makes sense). I believe this is 1 of 2 ways you are able to improve your TEAS score when applying to RCC. The other way to improve your TEAS score only applies to those students who receive a failing TEAS score (a score lower than 62%). To improve a failing score, you must take and pass a remediation course with ATI (which costs money$$), and then you will be eligible to take the TEAS again (this only applies to those students who were invited to come take the TEAS at RCC). You would have to check with your TEAS testing location to see if they offer any remediation for a failing TEAS score.

I hope this all makes sense! ?

That test was not easier than the practice exams to me! Lol How about you guys

I thought every section on the actual exam, except for the science portion, was easier! I felt like science had the same level of difficulty as the practice exams I took, and it’s the section that I scored the lowest on. I scored an 82 overall, which I’m pretty content about, being that I was hysterical yesterday after taking test B lol. How’d you do?

Science was harder than the practice tests, for me. That was my weakest subject today. I was stressing over math the most because my practice scores were low, but ended up doing great in that portion. I ended up with a 92 overall ?

How relieved are you guys now that it’s over? Now we wait till March, which is right around the corner.

Good job! That’s an awesome score! How many points does that put you at? I’m sure you’ll get in ? I am sooo relieved. Still slightly nervous because I wanted to score at least a 90 on the exam, but I believe I’ll be going in with 76 points now. March can’t get here soon enough.
