RCC Nursing Fall 2019
Thank you for the update! I just got a response email from L R the CSUF nursing pre-enrollment advisor. I have access to my CSUF student portal & email. Wondering if anyone else has access yet ? Attached is a screenshot of my Student Center. Nothing is posted. View Financial Aid, Accept/Decline Awards, My Academics....are all empty. I guess we still have a few more weeks to go then.

RCC Nursing Fall 2019
I’m surprised it’s taking this long for ADN students to hear back. I received MSJC ADN acceptance 4/3/2019 - about a month ago. But I do know RCC receives up to 5 times as many applicants for their ADN than MSJC does. PS. Still waiting to hear back from CSUF. Counseling and Financial Aid don’t ever answer their phones, and all my e-mails have gotten a generic reply stating, “Thank you for reaching out, we are experiencing a high number of e-mails....response time is longer than usual.”

Now that I have my CWID, I will call CSUF financial aid today and ask how that will work for us because technically, all financial aid paperwork was due last week. Will keep you all updated. ?

RCC Nursing Fall 2019
I used this website below. Just FYI, it asks for your SSN. ? https://my.fullerton.edu/Accounts/CWID/ In the CEP meeting we were told that we would receive an admissions letter from CSUF in about 2 weeks (so by the end of this coming up Friday). But I had to check on the CSUF site, and I’m happy that I did. At least I know now that CSUF is working on our admissions!? In this admissions letter, we should get our CWID# and a PIN# that will be needed to login to the CSUF portal.

RCC Nursing Fall 2019
Hi everyone! For those who were accepted into the CEP program, I was just wondering if anyone has received an email or anything in regards to the program after completing the background check/ drug screen ? So far, I’ve received a confirmation email from S after I accepted my admissions offer, an email for the background check/ drug screen and vaccination deadlines, and another email with the program course outline. I haven’t heard anything in over a week now, so I just wanted to check with all of you first before I called to bug them lol

RCC Nursing Fall 2019
@ab00rn I found this on the RCC Spring 2019 thread. “Congrats on getting an alternate spot, I was an alternate and I got officially accepted during take in day. So don't worry!! Many people end up going other places, some people don't email back within the time frame, the list goes on. Just make sure you reply to S saying that you accept your spot as an alternate and then go from there.”

RCC Nursing Fall 2019
For students that already hold a BA/BS degree already, the cost of tuition will be different compared to those students who don’t have one. Students with a BA/BS degree will be charged for Postbacc/Graduate per unit, instead of the Undergrad tuition per unit. Learned this at the Pre-nursing workshop. ? The tuition difference will only be for the CSUF classes, not for the RCC classes. I believe CEP students will be taking an extra CSUF class each semester, which will be held online or on RCC campus. So CEP students will be taking same classes as regular ADN students + an extra CSUF class each semester. Those extra CSUF classes will have a tuition difference depending on whether or not a student holds a BA/BS degree already.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably done with your TEAS! ??? I just wanted to add some things I didn’t mention before that I learned at the pre-nursing workshop the other day. For Spring 2020, they will be slightly changing the Multicriteria Point System. They are trying to make Statistics a requirement - that means that there will no longer be a Criteria 8 worth 4 points for Math 12-Statistics with a “C” or better. Instead, the Statistics grade will be included in Criteria 2b, under General Ed Courses GPA. They are still in the process of approving this change, so the point values for each Criteria 1-8 are all subject to change, with the possibility of Criteria 8 completely being eliminated from the Multicriteria Point System. Also, many may know now that RCC only takes the first passing score of the TEAS exam. I learned that every time the TEAS exam version changes (for example, the latest TEAS change from Version 5 to Version 6), you are able to improve your TEAS score. For example, if on your first try, you scored a 73% on Version 6 of the TEAS (the current version now), when the new Version 7 of the TEAS comes out, you take this new TEAS Version 7 and score an 89% - this is your first passing score for this new version of the TEAS. This first passing score for the newer TEAS will replace the first passing score for the older TEAS (I hope this makes sense). I believe this is 1 of 2 ways you are able to improve your TEAS score when applying to RCC. The other way to improve your TEAS score only applies to those students who receive a failing TEAS score (a score lower than 62%). To improve a failing score, you must take and pass a remediation course with ATI (which costs money$$), and then you will be eligible to take the TEAS again (this only applies to those students who were invited to come take the TEAS at RCC). You would have to check with your TEAS testing location to see if they offer any remediation for a failing TEAS score. I hope this all makes sense! ?

RCC Nursing Fall 2019
Hi everyone! ? I attended the pre-nursing workshop at MoVal CC today! Just FYI, J mentioned that most students with a science GPA of 3.3 or above were invited to take the TEAS at RCC this application period, Feb 13th and Feb 14th. J also mentioned that for Fall 2019, students admitted into the Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) will be doing the ADN/BSN with RCC/CSU Fullerton, while those applying for Spring 2020 CEP, students will be doing their ADN/BSN with RCC/CSU San Bernardino. Estimated costs would be between $12K-$15K for CEP, compared to the ADN cost of $6K. Also, those students who hold a bachelor’s degree are waived from the Political Science/History requirement. Let me know if you have any questions! And good to those taking the TEAS next week! ?
