Congratulations to all of those who are starting in the Fall. I will be starting my 2nd year, I started last Fall, and I am here to offer any guidance I can to you all. Get ready. Tighten those roller blades cause nursing school goes by soo fast, again Congrats!!

We would love your guidance! We have a small group going and looking for more mentor's. Can you give advice on things to keep in mind starting this first week? Pitfalls and such? We use GroupMe and Discord if you are available.

Yes, groups are essential! Advice, don't overwhelm yourself with feeling like you need to read EVERY single chapter assigned, focus on objectives and understanding what you're reading/learning. Study groups are great, but make sure that you're using them to reinforce your learning rather then learning it for the first time. Utilize the lab and practice as much as your skills as possible.Ask Qs during seminar, record seminar, and listen during seminar. I would try to take notes throughout the whole seminar until I found myself getting behind in what was being taught. I, now, listen and jot down quick notes, and once i get home I listen to lecture and i type it out, and it has helped me tremendously. This allows me to be present 110% during seminar. What do you need to add me to your GroupMe? Feel free to ask me anything else, i'm here to help.

Awesome! That makes a lot of sense.

You're invited to join my group "RCC CEP Nursing Fall 2019" on GroupMe. https://groupme.com/join_group/49943534/7XRCYlYv hopefully that works

It worked, I just joined. ?

Hello everyone! I know Bigs & Littles will be released soon, but I wanted to offer a hand with any questions or whatever you guys have -- though I'm not sure how well I can answer it all since they've changed the curriculum with you guys! I am starting 2nd semester. MamaTiny definitely helped ease some of my concerns before school started!

Hey guys! I have a couple pairs of uniform pants (size XS & S) to sell! They are both in near-perfect condition. I also have one uniform top (size S and never worn) to sell or trade if you happen to have an XS. Let me know! $25 a piece. My loss is your gain ? (I'm sorry I couldn't have posted this sooner! I actually kind of forgot they were in my closet)

If I calculated it right, I have 48 points pre-TEAS test. ?

When you guys sent your applications, did you guys print and fill out or just do it on screen and save & attach the application?

Did you get admitted? I am sorry to bother you. Just wanted to find out if you were or not because now I am applying too and I have 48 points before TEAS

I just took teas and I have 74 now

https://www.rcc.edu/departments/schoolofnursing/Documents/RN11 Clinical schedule GRID for WEBSITE Fall 2019 with Faculty 3.21.19 (003).pdf

Guys, according to this schedule, I am just wondering if the clinicals start at 630 am? and end at 1900 pm?

I wonder if some of you have kids, how do you manage that schedule?

Just need a word of encouragement

How do you see 12 hour clinical? There’s no 12 hour clinical in first semester. It is brutal but anything is possible. It all depends what cohort you’re in too.

I made a typo. Sorry. But still according to the rotation it's hard to have life if you work part time.

Can we choose cohort as we want to or we are set up without our will?

I am trying to prepare myself for the next semester and I would appreciate any details. Thanks in advance

Oh yea it all depends how you grasp the material I guess. For some, it’s a little more time consuming and you need more time to study and read. Some people were able to work and others weren’t at all. That schedule also doesn’t factor in extra practice if you aren’t grasping skills.

For our class you couldn’t choose if you were cohort A or B.. CEP was A and traditional was B. Anything could change though.. I think the best plan going into the semester is to have no plan and be flexible haha.. or maybe plan to read a lot ?
