RCC Nursing Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello! I thought I'd start this thread for anyone who is applying for the RN program at Riverside City College for Fall 2019! Let's all chat! :)

I wasn’t able to find my CWID either. I made a GroupMe for CEP students so we can keep each other updated on CSUF admissions and other requirements. Feel free to send this link along to others.

Wow, 90% is amazing! Congrats! I've been studying here and there and am planning to really keep my head down and study hard in the couple of weeks leading up to the test. I'm trying to put my focus on my Poli Sci class right now. How were the math and grammar portions? I'm most nervous about those ? I've scored A's in those classes, but I need to brush up on the differences between adverbs, pronouns, adjectives, etc. It's also been a little while since my last algebra class.

Hey! My name is Sarina and I’m a pre nursing student... I have a question about the TEAS test... do I take that after I put in my application at RCC? Or do I take it before I apply?

Also I have another question.. if you guys get accepted into RCC ‘s SON, what was your overall GPA and science gpa?? I’m kinda nervous right now, I have anatomy 2 and micro left and I’m scared that I won’t be competitive enough to get in... good luck to you all!!! I’m loving this thread! ?

Typically you will apply and then you’ll take the TEAS. I know not all programs are like that though so just double check each program’s deadlines.

Honestly it’s all about your points! Have you calculated your hypothetical points? Just do the best you can in those science classes and when it comes time to take the TEAS, really go all in.. study as much as you can! I had a 4.0 in my science classes and a 3.8 as my overall GPA.

Omg that’s so impressive! How did you do it ??? I have one C on my transcript and it’s in psych 9 .. I don’t know what my points would be because I’m still taking my last’s few science courses but I’m trying really hard to do my best.. I have an A in anatomy 1 so far but we just had an exam sooooi we’ll see about that haha.. I want to boost my GPA but I don’t gave many classes left so I’m not sure what to do

Don’t stress! your overall GPA is calculated slightly different than your “actual” GPA that shows on your transcript.. because my overall is actually lower because I have a few C’s but because they didn’t use those classes to calculate I lucked out! Check out RCC’s nursing website and there will be links for the point system and also what classes are used to calculate GPA.. if I remember correctly, PSY 9 was not used to calculate GPA ! Trust me, If I can do it you can! I went from having a very low GPA to working on those classes and eventually got in!

Thank you so much ❤️ I really wish you luck in getting in!!! I totally relate to your guys’ eagerness to get in , I’m eager and I haven’t even finished all of my classes ?

For those accepted into the CEP, how many points did you have???? I want to know because I am going to apply for CEP Spring 2020.

Thank you!!!

Soooo should we start placing bets on whether we’ll hear by tomorrow or not? ??

Still not holding my breath ??

I’m surprised it’s taking this long for ADN students to hear back. I received MSJC ADN acceptance 4/3/2019 - about a month ago. But I do know RCC receives up to 5 times as many applicants for their ADN than MSJC does.

PS. Still waiting to hear back from CSUF. Counseling and Financial Aid don’t ever answer their phones, and all my e-mails have gotten a generic reply stating, “Thank you for reaching out, we are experiencing a high number of e-mails....response time is longer than usual.”
