Hello, everyone I just want say that while studying my NCLEX book I don't really understand the Rationales to why I missed the question.

It's really not sticking to me.

I'm doing my best to study everyday and still don't know why I can't understand this stuff to be able to either talk about it or at least understand and comprehend the Rationales to why I missed the question.

Plus, I go back in the book and try and study I'm a lil retarted or what?

This is very overwhelming I'm studying Chapters in order in Saunders NCLEX book for PN 3rd edition. Please,Please Please help me find away to understand this stuff.  :cry:. Just when I think I understand I don't know if I do or don't understand the information.

Maybe you need to take a short break, nothing too long a day or a couple days but you need to give your brain some relax time. Studying too much may be causing you to have issues retaining.

you have to admit first that you really answered incorrectly. i understand how you feel,:) sometimes i do feel the same say. i resist to change ideas to what i believe is correct but after reading the question again and again and looking through the behind the answer, i have been able to understand them easily. :bluecry1:a lot of times, the questions presented are not clear so you have to dig very deep to find the answer. and also answers presented are not also obvious so you need to look within what it really means. :nurse:

Okay, thanks alot I know I'm not alone but it just bothers me if I'm not comprehending the information that is very disturbing to me because some people can catch on so quick but shoot with the Medical Field not me I have to study real hard.

Also, I only study 2 to 3 hrs a day 4 to 5 days a week. And I only do about 50 Questions whats wrong with me? But thinks silverdragon102 so you think I should study less days this is going to take me forever to get to Suzannes Plan isn't it? And once I get through this whole book will I remember what I studied from the beginning of time?

The first tip is just to understand where you are weak haven't got a recent Saunder's book so not sure how many questions there are for each chapter, what you should be doing is the questions at the end of each chapter and if you get less than 75% read the chapter and re do the questions. try that and see how you do

Why don't you do anything relaxing for you? go to the beach and enjoy the view for an hour or anything that will make you relax.. I can see myself in you right now as I read your posts.. what I did was go to church and pray to Him, went to a restaurant and enjoyed myself... I also felt stupid when I can't retain those things and I thought that my brain might be tired and exhausted... Give some time for your brain to rejuvenate.... I know you can do it... One thing that always sticks in to my mind.. IF THEY CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT TOO!!! I JUST NEED TO BELIEVE TO MYSELF!!

hope this helps...:D:up:

When I get to the point that I'm saying "huh?", I toss the Saunders book aside and read a couple of chapters in whatever fiction novel I'm currently reading. Or I take a walk, or message on Allnurses, or whatever helps me relax. Taking a break really DOES help

If there is something that isn't sticking, you can post it here and maybe one of us can help you remember it. I'm willing to be you aren't the ONLY ONE that it ain't stickin for. lol I have decided I'll never get acid base balances and fluids and electrolytes down pat. Just not staying in the brain.

Thanks so much u guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really needed this comfort zone boy O boy I really needed the support I'm not giving up at this point.I'll just try, try, try again......I think I can. I think I can. I think I can..lol

I'm doing the same thing study about 3 to 5 hours a day but I just know I have to study more hours a day? I mean really how many hours a day is recommended to study for nclex? Are people fully committed to only study nclex and leave their jobs for study time? I'm stress!!!!!!

really depends on your pacing.. if you're comfortable with studying long hours, then do it, if not then don't.. For me, I study about 2 hours and I do like 2 chapters a day in Saunders and after those, I answer 100 questions from the CD and read rationales whether right or wrong.. Remember, get something to eat before you study, and relax in between study hours..
