Hello everyone!
I was looking into Rasmussen College in Fort Myers, Florida. I was wondering if there was anyone who has attended or currently attending Rasmussen at the Fort Myers campus? What were/are your thoughts on the program? Since I already have a B.S. in Exercise Science, I was looking at doing the A-BSN, Second Degree option. I have already attended a Nursing Information Session with the school and it seems like a great opportunity. Just looking to get more insight about the program from people who have gone through it.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have Picmonic and I always forget about using it, and I did give Nursing.com a try, but it's too pricey to keep when I wasn't consistently using it. It's' almost like I have resource overload and not enough time to use them all. I kinda wish I did this thru a traditional program because it moves so fast and there's too much work to do! Graduation in 6 months though! ?
I feel ya! I typically listen to Nursing.com on my drive to and from school (an hour each way) or to clinical (up to an hour and a half away!). I do Picmonic quiz questions every day, just to keep the information fresh in my mind. Have you take the MedSurg ATI yet? I hear that one is hard. I don't take it until next quarter.
And yay! 6 months will go by so fast! I am 4 months away. It is a bit scary but super exciting.

I take the Community ATI tomorrow, so I will let you know how it goes. I took Pharmacology in my second Quarter, I believe. That one is a tough one. A lot of people failed it. Pharm was one of the ATIs I was one question away from a level 3. Mental Health wasn't too bad. Picmonic was a huge help with that one, because I did not study super hard for that one.
Update:
So, I ended up not going to Nashville for my job interviews. Why? Well, because a couple of weeks ago I received an invitation to interview for a position in the NICU at a hospital (my number one choice) here in Florida. I will be honest. I never, ever thought I would get the opportunity to interview at this hospital because 1) I don't live in the same city, so I wouldn't get the opportunity to do clinicals, shadow, etc. at that hospital, and 2) it is one of the top hospitals in the nation. Anyhow... I got offered the position! And I obviously accepted. So, I will be starting out in a Level 3 NICU upon graduation!
Whatever specialty you want to get into when you graduate, it can be done. If you put in the work, network, meet people face-to-face, and go the extra mile to show you are committed to that specialty, you will set yourself up for success.
I hope everyone is having an amazing week! Happy nursing!

So, are you looking at the Ft. Myers campus? You should be able to take Intro to Nursing, Essentials of Pathophysiology, and/or Physical Assessment along with your Chemistry and Human Nutrition courses. That is based on looking at the Rasmussen 2019-2020 catalog. As far as taking a quarter off, I don't see why that would be a problem, but I would ask the program manager or even the dean, because I know that the ADN program might be changing their curriculum soon. Or it just recently changed. I am not 100% on that.
Hi there! I guess I am newer at this than I thought. I know now where to look for notifications!! Thank you for all of your info and congrats on all of your hard work, so exciting! I will be starting in Aprip and will not be taking any time off at all, so I'm very happy about that. I do want to look at your ABSN program that you took with them, I was registering for their ADN program, but will at least look into it. It only took you 6 quarters? I have all of the general education courses complete for the ADN so I am thinking it will maybe take me less than 18 months? I'm going to post this then keep reading, so glad I looked and figured it out, the message board!

If you have finished all of the gen ed courses for the ADN, then you should be able to complete it in about a year (4 quarters), or maybe 5 quarters. Here is a link to the course catalog for the ADN program: https://rasmussen-college.dcatalog.com/v/2019---2020-Catalog/?page=66
Here is the link for the BSN program (standard entrance, if you do not already have a degree in another field): https://rasmussen-college.dcatalog.com/v/2019---2020-Catalog/?page=70
As I said, if you have already completed the gen ed courses for the ADN (42 credits), then it should not take you longer than a year to complete the remaining Nursing Core curriculum (60 credits). But this is something you would have to discuss with the program manager.
Are you going to be at the Ft. Myers campus?
Alright, alright, alright!
So, I took Exam 2 for Mom/Baby today and my Nursing Care of Children ATI today. I only scored a Level 2 on the ATI. I am happy I passed, but I was really hoping for that Level 3. I was only off by 2 questions! So close! I got a 95% on my Exam 2 for Mom/Baby. I am pretty happy with that score. And we got our clinical schedules for our next (and final!) quarter. It is going to be a TON of clinical hours. I think it'll be somewhere in the range of 180-200 hours. It is going to be INTENSE! But I am also really looking forward to it, if only because it is our final quarter. haha
I hope everyone out there is doing well! Until next time, happy nursing!
Hey! I missed a level 3 on the Nursing Care of Children ATI by 2 questions as well! I’m starting my OB portion of the semester this week... we lost 1/2 of our clinical days this semester because of the virus and there’s still a possibility of losing them all ?I’m so disappointed because I was especially looking forward to the L&D/ Mother Baby (postpartum) ones! Did your school switch to remote instruction for the in person classes yet? I think mine is about to...
