Hey y'all!
Just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying to Radys this fall. I applied for ED, PICU and NICU!
Good luck to everyone!
I have sad news for those of us anxiously waiting to hear anything back from the NICU— I heard from a friend who is interning there right now that the unit is likely not going to hire any new grads for the Fall cohort and will start accepting applications in November for their Spring 2024 cohort... This is a huge bummer especially since the application advertised that the NICU was accepting new grads for this upcoming cohort. Sorry for this upsetting news y'all ?
thats a bummer! Do you know if they forwarded any applications to the NICU hiring manager at all then?

I'm not sure. My friend did say there is a possibility some of the Rady's satellite campuses could be accepting new grads in the NICU, so maybe??

That's what happened to me in the Spring cohort for the NICU at ucsd. They hired over 20 new grads from the pervious cohort an now they're not hiring for the next few cohorts or until Spring 2024. Thanks for the update!
OK so I have an update to how many people they hired in the last cohort. Around 44 people were hired; medical had the largest group of 14 with MBU. The rest had 4-5 people (including hemonc, PICU, NICU, and CTICU. Surgical had 2. They said the cohorts will be getting bigger due to the nurse shortage.

So actually they are extending interviews this Friday and next week for the January cohort. Since they hired 6 new grad for July, they are booked technically and overwhelmed for accepting anymore. But hopes are high for Sharp Mary Birch since many nurses are retiring.

So nicu will be reaching out to candidates to interview but to start in Jan 2024?
