Would anyone mind sharing your experiences for the 2nd interview at Rady? What sort of questions do they ask? How many people in the panel? How long it was? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
Have any of you gone through the second interview? I had an hr long first interview with leadership, there were a lot of behavioral/ situation questions. Now I'm scheduled for a second round of interviews with just floor staff. It sounds more casual but for those of you who have been through this, can you describe it a little? Does the second interview mean applicants have been narrowed down more? Thanks

Hey katewash, what unit was this for? I too had an hour-long first interview last Wednesday in the ED and they said they would get back to me by the "end of next week" and it's Sunday so I'm a bit antsy to hear anything at this point!
My interview was on medical. But I've heard of others who interviewed in ed and are still waiting to hear back, good luck to you, stay positive!
Just got my call back for ED, staff interview on Monday for me :)
The manager I spoke with said she made all the calls out for those that were considered for the second round of interviews.
I heard back from NICU on Monday and was offered a position! I am excited to meet the other New Grads, too :-)
As for safe places to live nearby... I live about 40 minutes from Rady, and will probably commute during the 18-week Program. I am not familiar with housing in that immediate area.
What's affordable to you? Are you looking to share a place or live on your own? Mission Valley and anywhere along the 8 toward the stadium you can get 2 bed 2 bath apartments or condos from 1.5 to 2/mo. North Park is a bit more packed but is nice if you're into the more hipster, bars and food scene. Pb and mission beach if you're into the beach stuff and the antics that go along with it. Clairemont /Kearny Mesa are a bit more homey and quiet. But affordable is relative unless you plan on commuting a little bit. I'm paying 1650 for condo in fashion Valley and that's a steal. Studios and singles hurt the wallet more obviously. I'd just avoid anything on El Cajon eastward and anything too far south without prior knowledge.

Sorry I am entering late in the game, but for those of you who are waiting to hear back after the 5-10 minute interviews 2-ish weeks ago, I had one as well. I interviewed in CVICU and was notified I should hear back sometime this week for a second interview whether I am selected or not... Good luck :)
