Anyone else have the pleasure of these lovely meetings where you have to sit down with a manager of some sort and make up goals and a plan? It irks me to no end that the fact that I am keeping kids from dying, administering their medications, completing mandated screenings and all the other stuff that goes along with being a school nurse isn't enough and I have to come up with some ridiculous several part "plan" to meet some pointless goals I make up. I am not a teacher and it is difficult to make measurable goals to determine if I have met them. Anyway, just frustrating as I just got some three page document I need to fill out and complete and return to my manager the day before break to then sit down and discuss our first day back from break. I have to fill out, among other things "Two things I am doing well" with specific examples, and "two things I could do even better" with specific examples. With my dad dying last week, this stuff is seriously my LAST priority. Rant over.
My goal is to take an uninterrupted lunch. Never gonna happen, but it's a goal.
My goal one year was to take a 15 minute, uninterrupted break outside of my office every day. My boss even supported it.
It never happened consistently. But, oh did I try! On a good week, I was able to accomplish it 2 days/5. Several weeks were 0/5.
Oh I hate these things, My employer just sent me mine for the year and I don't (Thankfully) have to develop any "Goals" When I worked Mother Baby somebody ding'd me on my "Leadership" skills and i politely told them off "I have nobody to lead, I'm not a manager, nor a charge nurse. If I did try to lead I'd be interfering with the charge nurse, wouldn't I? I'm a worker bee, let me work!"

Yup, I hear you! We have to fill out this stupid TeachPoint crap....and it is NOT nursing focused but teacher focused, drives me crazy! I want to write "I just want to get thru the day without having any major emergencies, and sending everyone home the way they came in". Why is that so hard? LOL
