Hey just wondering if anyone on here was previously accepted to their program and how it is and if you don't mind sharing your stats. Also anyone else on here that's applied already for 2015? I just submitted my application last week.
I really really like this program. It is very challenging, but the Professors do everything they can to see to your success. If you live in the area, I would suggest coming to one of the open house sessions, I believe one is coming up in March. They were able to give me a full tour of the Nursing department and state of the art labs/simulation technology.
In this cohort, everyone is a family which really helps when trying to study. I would highly suggest not working. There is a marked difference in my gpa and my counterparts who work. Hmm.. what else. The program is very, very expensive. About 62,000 in total. The good news is, mostly all students get an institutional grant of 25 grand. So, remember to fill out your FAFSA. Prepare to spend a good amount of extra money on books, scrubs, lab coats/equipment, and commuting. A friend of mine has to drive 1 hour and 15 mins to her clinical site.. and thats one way.
Hey guys! I am also in the program currently! I had zero medical experience coming in along with several others. I was told the main focus of the application was our essays! I had a high undergrad GPA (3.9) and pre reqs were fair but nothing amazing. Acceptance letters went out the VERY end of February/I got mine March 1st so its coming up!!! And yes, it was a small envelope. The program is challenging but definitely manageable. Fall and spring semester are similar to a junior year undergrad it is the summer that really will be the accelerated part. As long as you stay organized and on top of whats due and whats coming up it isnt a problem. Just as Christine said, the class really becomes a family and we all help each other out! One big thing to keep in mind about this program and nursing in general, is the importance of flexibility! Since they really appreciate student feedback they do try improving things year to year but of course some small kinks will come with that. Good luck to everyone!
First semester we had classes/labs mon, tues, wed and our clinical day was either Thurs or Fri (yes most of us had 3 day weekends!) Mon started at noon ended around 5 30, tues and wed were 9-2:45 and clinicals were around 7-3 (varies depending on the site mine was 6:30-2:30) Right now we have the same class/lab mon, tues, wed but two days of clinical that are either thurs, fri, or saturdays. Mon lab is 12-4ish, tues lectures 8-12 then another 2-4. Wed we have class 9-11:30. Clinicals this semester vary a lot. Some of us have mornings while others have evenings. The times are usually 7-3 or 2-10pm but since we have a community clinical it can change depending what type of placement you have! The summer is when things will get super crazy! Fall and spring are really typical Junior year college schedules, not too bad at all!

I wondered the exact same thing lol. It was just a regular sized envelope :) We are all over southern Connecticut as far up as Hartford. So, St. Francis, St. Mary's, Bristol, Midstate, middlesex, Yale. The list goes on but I can't think of all of them.
