  1. Did any of you end up in Main Lines residency program? I know this is so much later but I had my interview 3 weeks ago and they said they were hoping to send decisions out mid january and I have yet to hear anything. I have tried emailing the person in charge and left a voicemail but no responses. If any of you did participate or are still working there, how did you like the program? And how long did it take to hear back in the end?
  2. We wondered the same thing! The first day most of us dressed somewhat nice, with at least a nicer shirt or something, but the second day, we were just comfortable. The building can get VERY cold so make sure to bring some layers! I would go with comfort but still look somewhat decent (no sweat pants). They really do not care about our dress here but the person in charge has made subtle comments she thinks we should need to dress nicely since its a professional program. However, when you see us we will probably all be about the comfort! It is completely up to you but my only recommendation is bring an extra layer for your arms!
  3. This program will really guarantee you passing the NCLEX and the reputation it has in the surrounding area hospitals is pretty amazing! With that being said, it is extremely important to remain very flexible in this program. Things constantly change every moment and you can't really plan anything for the summer. Spring and fall were very manageable and like a normal junior year of college so its definitely doable but summer it gets intense. As long as you are really ok giving up your life for a little bit to devote for nursing, the program goes so quick its worth it! Just remember to remain flexible and dont let the little things get to you :)
  4. Yes! The program uses another program called ATI which is sort of like a kaplan type deal but for NCLEX. We have to pass all of those before they will even allow us to sit for the NCLEX so there shouldnt be a problem!
  5. Letters have started but they go in waves so just be patient :)
  6. Our class is about 45 people. I believe they are aiming for that for yours as well but they got a record number of applications this year (over 300). I would say majority of people are definitely from CT but there are several from other areas as well. I am not sure too much of details on how they are sending the letters other than that "they will go out in waves." I would think it should be too much into April as paperwork has to start getting done by summer time!
  7. You need to keep a GPA overall of 3.0 not necessarily each exam but because midterms and finals count so much, getting much below an 80 is hard to completely recover from
  8. First semester we had classes/labs mon, tues, wed and our clinical day was either Thurs or Fri (yes most of us had 3 day weekends!) Mon started at noon ended around 5 30, tues and wed were 9-2:45 and clinicals were around 7-3 (varies depending on the site mine was 6:30-2:30) Right now we have the same class/lab mon, tues, wed but two days of clinical that are either thurs, fri, or saturdays. Mon lab is 12-4ish, tues lectures 8-12 then another 2-4. Wed we have class 9-11:30. Clinicals this semester vary a lot. Some of us have mornings while others have evenings. The times are usually 7-3 or 2-10pm but since we have a community clinical it can change depending what type of placement you have! The summer is when things will get super crazy! Fall and spring are really typical Junior year college schedules, not too bad at all!
  9. I just spoke to Dr. **** ctually and she said responses will be going out all of March so hang in there! They got a lot of applicants this year so they want to take the time to make sure they read through everything! Most likely after the 15th I believe they will go out in waves!
  10. Hey guys! I am also in the program currently! I had zero medical experience coming in along with several others. I was told the main focus of the application was our essays! I had a high undergrad GPA (3.9) and pre reqs were fair but nothing amazing. Acceptance letters went out the VERY end of February/I got mine March 1st so its coming up!!! And yes, it was a small envelope. The program is challenging but definitely manageable. Fall and spring semester are similar to a junior year undergrad it is the summer that really will be the accelerated part. As long as you stay organized and on top of whats due and whats coming up it isnt a problem. Just as Christine said, the class really becomes a family and we all help each other out! One big thing to keep in mind about this program and nursing in general, is the importance of flexibility! Since they really appreciate student feedback they do try improving things year to year but of course some small kinks will come with that. Good luck to everyone!
  11. Just sent you a message on facebook
  12. Here is the link: Look for Quinnipiac Accelerated Nursing class of 2015 on FB
  13. They actually changed orientation to June 2nd and 3rd this year (based on past student feedback) and it says we will start receiving textbook info then. So it sounds like we will have most of the summer to start looking at the books if you choose. Guess we will see what the math stuff is though! I definitely will enjoy summer before 365 days of non stop work!
  14. Just made a facebook group-Quinnipiac Accelerated Nursing 2015
  15. To anyone who is accepted and definitely going feel free to add me, Kim Lane and I think I might be under the Arcadia University network at the moment.
