Hi..
I am an RN from States who trying to transfer to Ontario PRN.
I have few questions.. if anyone could answer this that will be really great...
I failed RPN exam twice already...and i only got one more chance to take and exam..
Question is where can I get the preparation books??
Such as in the U.S, there are so many texts and preparation books for NCLEX exam(like mosby, kaplan, and so on..) but, i could not find any in Canada for RPN exam.. I only able to find one book which was for canada RN exam..(I think it was from Mosby...)
I really don't know what to study to prepare the exam..
Oh and I already got the The Canadian PN exam Prep Guide from Assessment Strategies.
Please give me any information, i only got one chance and if i fail again i have to take few courses to take exam again...
Help me out with any information please..
Thanks..

Did you try the online practice tests, they are from the PN exam guide and they are about $50. but they are more challenging than the PN exam guide.
You could also contact the RPNAO to see if they can help you out. They may be able to provide you with a list of current RPN competencies for Ontario.
Another thought I had, is have you contacted the CNO for some guidelines on resources to study. I am also wondering if the CNO gives you some kind of breakdown of your results so you know where you need work.

Are you writing the exam for registered nurses or registered psychiatric nurse?
If you are writing for the Ontario RPN which is a LPN in the rest of the country, my questions would be:
1. Why aren't you writing CRNE?
2. The CPNRE exam guide is available and very straight forward.

Theres so much resource materials you can choose from. I myself am an IEN and , I benefited from the CARE program. (Creating Access for Regulated Employers) website... http://www.care4nurses.org .

hi all the nurses out there,
I did RPN from an ontario college and i was a gud student, passed with gud marks. I studied hard for my license exam but got an unexpected result. I am sure this is not my result, i did better than wat i hv got..with the result there was a paper saying ''service for unsuccessful candidates''..basically it's hand-marking of exam. I was wondering if anyone knows if this service is helpful or just a wastage of 57$..anyone tried already??..please help me..I am really sad..feel like giving up nursing which used to b my passion
