Questions for those who have passed...

Published

I take the NCLEX Thursday and am getting nervous. My problem is that I am getting ~68-72% on the NCLEX3000 CD ROM tests. I feel like I should be doing better! I got pretty good grades and took Kaplan.

Any words of wisdom?

Thanks

I haven't taken that exam, but I have had the exact same thing happen when I took practice tests preparing for my nursing concepts exams. I would get 65 or so on the practice tests, and then get an A on the final.

Give yourself a rest and a break. Don't focus so much on your prep right now, since you obviously have done so much recently. Your mind will be clearer when you sit for the NCLEX if you are well hydrated, well rested and well fed.

When you take the NCLEX, focus on the question before you and nothing else. Read the question carefully and actively determine what they are asking--lots of errors seem to come from jumping the gun and picking the best answer, which happens to be for implementation, rather than a moderately good answer, which happens to be for assessment, when the question was about assessment. When we rush, worried, into an exam, we make these kinds of mistakes.

I think you will do fine. I don't know you, but look how far you have come so far. This was no accident. You worked hard and you learned. You have now prepared exceptionally well for the NCLEX. You'll do fine!

Let me know I'm right, when the time comes, OK? :)

Hi, just wanted to share with you my experience for the NCLEX-RN. I did NCLEX-RN cd rom and scored around 70% on an average. I passed with 263 questions. If you're steadily averaging around 65-75% you will be fine. Good Luck!!! Keep us posted. Don't drink too much fluids before test, I did and was about to burst trying not to go pee. :rotfl: Relax the night before only reviewing content you are not certain in and DO NOT TAKE A PRACTICE TEST BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP OR THE MORNING OF YOUR TEST. BE BLESSED, calling those things that be not as though they were. Thank you Father for what you have done and what you are doing in my life.:balloons: :balloons:

I just wanted to wish you good luck on your test!

Good luck on your test.... when I was going through review questions, I was only scoring like 70 some percent average between the kaplan, lippincott and saunders review cds....... just keep doing questions...... and learn what they are looking for by reading strategy type stuff. The computer shut off at 140 something and found out today that I passed! :) Good lluck and let us know how it goes!

68 - 72 on the NCLEX 3000? You'll be fine! I never made it past 65-68 on both the Kaplan Question Trainer and the NCLEX3000 and I just found out today - I PASSED!!!!!! Took my test last Friday, and I passed with only 75 questions. So, don't worry too much, sit back and relax. You'll be fine!!!

I just took my test a couple of weeks ago and was 100% sure I had failed. It shut off at 85 questions, and I wasn't ready! I passed. I don't know how anyone could really study for the test that I took... it was mainly delagation questions......go figure.

thanks for all the words of wisdom. I took my test last thursday and it shut of at 78. I live in California, so we can't get results in 2 days! I am scared.

what percentage score do you actually need to get in the actual nclex in order to pass? 70 percent? i'm not really familiar with the nclex scoring system.
