I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?

I think that you have more of a chance to pass with 75 qs then fail. Considering they allow you more questions to prove your competency, therefore you really have to get a large amount wrong to not even be able to get those extra few questions to prove yourself.

That's what my husband kept telling me. I had 75 questions, but they weren't uber-hard like my NCLEX-PN was so I was worried I was stuck on the lower level questions. He pointed out that unless I completely blew it, I would've kept going. I ended up passing. Whew!

I think once you get to the point where you understand how to read the question and actually figure out specifically what they are asking then it makes a lot of questions appear easy. I have found that many of questions that I used to get wrong were because I did not catch specific words that they emphasized in the question such as "further teaching" or some fact they threw in the beginning of the q but then jumbled on about other features that distracted me.

75 and it shut off - 24 hours ago. I did the person vue trick and got the pop-up so I hope that's a good sign. We'll see. Just 24 hours or so to go and I find out. I should have passed. I was in the top 10% of my class. That test still makes you feel worried, though. I don't want to do it again.

I did the PN in Ohio n got to 85 n the dang on thing shut off:idea:! I was so scared Im like OMG what the heck??? I wasnt ready to finish and after that I was so dwn...i felt like I did the worst on any test I ever took! So the OBN says if you passed your name and license number will appear on the site within 72 hours DO NOT CALL THE BOARD ABOUT TEST RESULTS CONTACT PEARSON VUE...talked to my bestie she said hers was up the nxt day...ugh! Took it on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday nothin, nothin, nothin ugh! Friday I do the Pearson Vue Quick Results PASSED! But nothin on the OBN still sais PENDING what was that abt? I didnt kno whether to feel excited or terrified!! Of course by the time I got my quick results OBN was closed had to wait til monday...finally monday(longest weekend btw) I call o yea you passed but we cant put it up yet because your application name doesnt match our completion letter...was so mad at my husband bcuz I believed it was his fault instead of it really being mine for failing to notify the registrar @ my school...it still took them 2 weeks to put it on the website but Yippie 85 n done! Goodluck to those who still have to take it:yeah:!

I passed - I looked on the state web site and it has me listed with a license number. That was posted in about 24 hours. No need to go to the pearson site. A great big monkey off my back. 75 questions and done.

I passed on Wednesday with 75 questions! The state had my license listed as active within 10 hours- WHAT A RELIEF.

I think I figured out the reason that everyone feels like they didn't know half of what was on their test... because it's designed so that you always miss 50%... it's just whether the 50% you get right are above the passing standard. So everyone feels discouraged when they leave. But more often than not we pass.

Took the exam in 2007- 75 questions and passed. Could have sworn I failed though, and the state didn't have my license posted for several days, so that isn't really reliable.

Just finished my exam a couple hours ago -- 75 questions and out -- two hours..... I feel sick.... I can honestly say that I KNEW only a handful of answers right off the bat.... I feel like there was no way I passed, yet cannot believe I did that poorly...... Yikes -- guess time will tell......

I took my nclex rn in anaheim ca yesterday and stopped at 75. This is my third time taking nclex so i dont know anymore what to think!!! The first time stopped at 123, with over 70 sata questions, the 2nd time i took it all the way to 265... Now, 3 months later it stops at 75!!! ***** I dont even want to do the pearson trick anymore cuz i dont want to get depressed! This test only gave me 3 sata questions, 2-3 med questions, two addison questions, the rest is prioritization and delegation. Somebody tell me please that they got similar questions and passed cuz so far it did not seem so hard for me, not like the other two i took! I dont know if because im used to taking test or used to failing so im in that stage where i would rather get the paper in the mail than feel bad. :( i didnt tell wifey cuz i dont want her to feel bad with me failing it. Im lvn for 8 years now so i know i have a fall back, but gosh i just want to feel like what i worked so hard with a newborn back then pays off. Its been over a year two days ago and i dont think my mind can take another year of reading the same kaplan book anymore.... :(

How is that possible? Dont kno if its ever happened, pretty sure it has, but what if someone gets every answer right? That doesn't make sense that it could be designed to make an individual fail 50% of it, not knowing your individual degree of intelligence. Where did you get that tidbit from?
