I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?

Just took my NCLEX about 4 hours ago.... Sick to my stomach.... Just moved to a new state with no friends, family, or income, and a job lined up that is dependent on my results...Test shut off at 75 questions... Had about 10 SATA q's, 5-8 on infection control, 10 on drugs, 5 on diet, and bout 5 on the same 2 categories of hormonal disorders (which all are my weak areas)....no peds..no ob.. no delegation..no math.. no traction q's...only 1 or 2 where we had to use lab values............. (all my strong points)... 99% sure I failed!....... These threads give me hope.. anybody else get 75 q's where no questions were asked on some areas?

I took it in '93 when the computer version was on a volunteer basis and nobody knew what to expect. When it shut off after 35 min and 76 questions all I could think was "Thats IT?!!, after all that studying, I only get 76 questions!?" I still wonder if it tests nursing knowledge or just your ability to take tests.

I had 75 questions also and your test sounds pretty much like mine. I took the NCLEX on Jan, 13, 2010 and I got a lot of questions also on repeated categories. I didn't know if I was getting the questions wrong and thats why they kept asking me questions on the same category or they were just making sure I knew what I was talking about. Also my SATA questions only had 2 correct answers and I felt like they were trying to trick me. I was nervous and confused when I finished b/c I felt like most of the questions they gave me were easy and they say when its easy you got to many low level questions. I kept speaking and believing that I passed but I started to freak out that night thinking about all the drugs questions that I was unsure about. You are smarter then you think! I'm sure you passed believe in yourself...all my friends from nursing school who got 75 questions passed and I PASSED at 75! Trusting your first instinct on every question is always best and it will never fail you!

1st time, 1.5hrs, 75 questions = PASS!

ATI predictor said I had a 99% chance on my first try.

Didn't really study, just took my time to answer questions carefully.

Specializes in telemetry, ortho, med-surg.

I passed with 75 questions. When I made it to question number 74, I was sweating bullets. I had to take a break to pull myself together.

I had 75 questions and passed. It took less than an hour.

The POLL says :

Pass - 82.95%

Fail - 17.05%

I hope the numbers don't lie. Mine stopped at 75, tried the PV trick but got no pop up. :(

I took the exam today and the computer shut off at 75. I completely did not expect it to shut off at the minimum. I wasn't the greatest student but with hard work and dedication, I made it through nursing school so I knew that I couldn't have done great. I took my time-finished 75 questions in 2.5 hours. I think that's the longest that I've seen here so far. I felt confident throughout the test, which freaked me out because most people felt as if they were "hit by a bus." I took kaplan and did all qbank and qtrainer questions and read every single explanation. What made me feel confident on the NCLEX was that I found that most of the topics (or meds or procedures or diseases) that I was questioned on were mentioned on the Kaplan qbanks! Although, I was not completely confident in my chosen answer, I did feel better that I at least knew the topic. I had 8 SATA, a lot of priority (who would you see/call first), infection control, identify the pic, teaching, and meds. The med questions were one after the other and all I thought was, "omg, im not getting these right!" and all of the sudden they stopped and they were mixed with meds I knew and meds I had NO IDEA ABOUT. Close to the end of the test, I had a very hard SATA, followed by 2 "easy" (at least, I thought they were easy), and finally ending with a teaching question. I feel encouraged as I read through almost all the posts in this thread, but I feel completely lifeless. I felt good and then I felt horrible. I'm in Cali so I won't find out my results for probably a couple days to weeks. Thank you to those who read my story.

i also forgot to mention that i had 3 math calculations! and they were not one after the after...i felt like I was getting it at random...

75 questions and passed!!

Boy was I ever sweating bullets!

found out today that i passed! WOOOT! i'm in cali and i took it on the 9th and found my name on the BRN website :) i didn't do the PVT-too scared too haha

I passed NCLEX-RN in 75 questions :)

I am now a USRN :)

Thanks to the Lord ;)

Ok, I have a question for everyone. Just took my test this morning and I am extremely nervous. It ended after 75 questions and I have a horrible feeling that I failed. However, I did have 14 multiple multiple questions. I heard that is a good thing, has anyone else heard this? Thanks.
