Well, today was the big day.I took my NCLEX-RN... I have been preparing for over a month now (not counting the preparation I was doing DURING nursing school)... and I went into the exam feeling nervous but confident in my abilities.
BOY, that changed quick!
Some of the questions were okay, but most of them left me thinking "What the...?"
...and as if I wasn't jarred enough by this, my test ended at 75 questions.
I know I answered the last question correctly, but the rest seemed so off the wall. Tons of pharm, select all that apply, prioritizing, etc... and when the test ended at 75 questions, it was all I could do not to bang my fists on the desk and demand more questions!
I've got my friends telling me this is a good sign... but ugh, I just don't know!
Thoughts, anyone?
I hear ya!!! Same thing happened with me today! All those priority and infection control. I even had one that mentioned the black plague. I was like what in the **** is with this test!! Mine also shut off at 75. I went in there hoping for 75 cause in my mind I thought I would lose focus not long after that. but when mine shut off at 75 I was like oh no....this cant be it. I need more to prove myself. I had that overwhelming feeling like I failed. Now waiting for the next 48hrs is gonna be almost unbearable! I wish you luck....and maybe on Sunday we will both have RN after our names!!!
I also took the NCLEX today, I thought I was prepared. No kidding, I had 25 select all that apply. The computer shut off after 75. I came out of there thinking the worst. I don't know what to think about all those select all that apply?
Oh my goodness... YES! I swear, all of the select all that apply were ridiculous! Every time I got ANOTHER one, I was like "you have GOT to be kidding me!"
Best of luck to you, my love. Hopefully we will have good news in a few days!

The black plague, eh? Wow... random! I had a bunch of infection control, as well.
Some I know I answered correctly and then some... well, there's no telling.
To make matters worse, I just moved to a new town where I don't know anyone! So I don't have anyone to help distract me, aside from my cat and a bottle of wine. How sad is that?!
Let's pray for the best and hope that these next 48 hours don't give us an ulcer!!
normal to feel this way.I had almost exactly the same experience and found out today that I passed.
I'm sure you did as well!
It is reassuring to hear that, but at the same time... I still want to puke all over myself.
I went through nursing school with all A's, only 2 B's, and passed all of my ERI's on the first try, etc.
Ugh, I sure hope I passed.
I'm in the same boat - got all A's throughout school, 98th percentile on HESI, and NCLEX was TOUGHHHHHH! 75 questions - similar crazy format as you guys. hope that means we reached difficult level... it must, right!? :plsebeg:
i am hoping it means we reached difficult level! i'd like to think i was having trouble answering questions because they were difficult, not because nursing school turned my brain into mush! :)
you are in my prayers!
