75 questions, got the bad pop up

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone! I've been reading so many topics on here about my current predicament.

decided to just post.

I took my NCLEX exam for the first time on 7/6/2017 In Southern CA

my computer stopped at 75 questions with 20 SATAs (I made sure to take note of how many I got)

I thought I even got the last question right.

before I even before took my exam I was already researching about results since CA doesn't offer quick results, so I know fairly well about the PVT.

I did it right when I got the Pearson Vue email. I used a Visa card that we got as a refund from my cable provider. BAD POP UP. as in the card was declined and to contact the bank(I used correct details) Then I used my moms credit card with the wrong exp date, declined. later wells fargo contacted her saying someone attempted to use her card.

I tried to keep hope that maybe I was one of the few that got the bad pop up but passed anyway but its hard to when I keep trying and I keep getting the bad pop up even 24+ hours later.

I checked breeze too since everyone said to check application status. Mine doesn't say pending anymore.

Under manage applications it says, Registered Nurse RN File #blahblah, with drop down options saying -RN exam repeat and change of address. Nothing in the License/Registration Information.

I just don't know what to do anymore. Im just feeling really down.

because I failed at 75 questions meaning I mustve messed up so badly it didn't even let me take the 190 questions left.

TL;DR

Feeling really down, took the nclex, stopped at 75q then got the bad pop up.

In my vague recollection, it does not sound like you got the bad popup or the good popup, you just gave them bad credit card info.

My results posted on a Sunday, hopefully yours will post soon. Please let us know how you did. Good luck!

thank you!

In my research I have seen people getting their card declined and still passing but very rare.

I've seen people that used an empty card like I did and got a good pop up and some that used the wrong exp date and got a good pop up so its not looking too good for me unfortunately.

The bad pop up based on what I've read so far is when your card gets declined because you used the wrong exp or if you use the correct card info it lets you pay for another exam

Stay positive if you can! I recently took the NCLEX on July 1st and when I finished I was SO positive I failed. I was too scared to do the PVT. I'm from MA so once I got my quick results i again was almos too scared to look, but when I did, I found I passed. I hope this is the case for you!

~ even when I thought I hadn't passed though, I texted my professor who was so reassuring. What she said was so true, everybody has their off days! Just because once exam didn't work out is not at all an indication of anything in the future! Keep your head up and go treat yourself- regardless of the outcome!

best of luck :)

CONGRATULATIONS!

Im trying my hardest to stay positive and thank you so much for advices they really do help out!

Yeah, I did the PVT and used the wrong expiration date and it never told me that it was wrong. It just told me I had already registered for a test (or whatever it says). It wasn't the most reassuring, but I found out I passed today.

We did ATI through my whole LPN program and did ATI Capstone the last semester...as well as all the proctors and that is really all I did and studied...I did a few other comprehensive test on a few other sites but I found out I passed today!

If you didn't pass, then hopefully you can find a good Nclex prep course to take and take it again...sometimes you just have bad days, nerves, not enough sleep, over studying, other stuff on your mind...the only advice I got and figured out with doing ATI and test in nursing school...don't 2nd guess, don't take too much time on a question, just pick what first pops into your mind...because usually that's the right answer!

I self studied through world and Saunders

I did learn the same trick of not second guessing myself

but I feel that I took the actual nclex too quickly because I did 75q in an hour.

I honestly don't know what to think anymore. I've stopped trying the pvt, figured I will just wait for official results.

but congratulations on passing! thank you for sharing your thoughts

Guys, I need support Asap. I did My Nclex today!!!!!! it stopped at 140 questions( no math, 10-15 sata, psyche safety and priotirization. I don't know how to feel. I did the pvc trick and got the good pop up twice but I don't want to celebrate yet. The anxiety is killing me. Any advised or sharing your experiences will be really appreciated!!!!!

Thank you

I finished my exam with 265 Q's yesterday! I did PVT almost immediately right after my exam, and then every hour x 5 and saw good pop up. This morning I received an email saying that I passed! I think PVT is accurate for good pop up as long as it remains the same!

Hey!!!! Let me first tell you that unfortunately the chances are that you did not pass. I know I hurts, you just want to lay in the bed and cry, you wish you could just go back and retake your test. I failed with 75 questions and received the "bad popup" which is the credit card declined message. I too felt as though I simply went too fast because I finished in the same amount of time. However, I tested in June and sure enough found out two days later that I indeed did not pass via quick results. Of course theres always a freak chance that you passed but being as it's been greater than 24 hours (which means your test has likely been graded twice by now [comp grades it then pearson goes over to make sure]) so it's better to accept the likely outcome. No need to drag your emotions along for hopes of the 1% you really did pass and that the PVT failed. Now, enough with making you sad (I know EXACTLY how you feel). I just received my ATT and have registered to take my test again August the 7th. So the world really isn't over when you fail. Give yourself a few days to come to terms with it. Eat ice cream, cry, hate yourself, whatever you have to do to get it out of your system. Then give yourself a week to not think about NCLEX or nursing at all. Then start reviewing again, if you're anything like me it probably wasn't a content problem. It was probably that you didn't take your time and carefully read each question and answer. (Knowing this was the worst part of failing because I knew it was completely my fault). Just start doing questions and I suggest doing complete systems/areas at a time (i.e. Ob, Peds, Medsurg, Pharm). Dust yourself off and realize that you are simply DELAYED not DENIED. You will rock it this next time, it's just tough picking yourself back up! YOU CAN AND WILL DO IT!

Sound's like you're good @HOPE5!!! I hope your state allows for quick results!!!! Let me know when you find out you passed!!!!!!

that whole thing was so thoughtful! a tough love kind of advice. thank you.

at this time I have accepted that I didn't pass. I am just waiting on the official letter to know where I should start again. should only take about one more week. we don't have quick results here in cali so I can't find out but I'm not hoping anymore. like what everyone says, I'm still young I still have time.

thank you again and good luck on your exam! we will learn from this and pass this time around!
