75 questions, got the bad pop up

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone! I've been reading so many topics on here about my current predicament.

decided to just post.

I took my NCLEX exam for the first time on 7/6/2017 In Southern CA

my computer stopped at 75 questions with 20 SATAs (I made sure to take note of how many I got)

I thought I even got the last question right.

before I even before took my exam I was already researching about results since CA doesn't offer quick results, so I know fairly well about the PVT.

I did it right when I got the Pearson Vue email. I used a Visa card that we got as a refund from my cable provider. BAD POP UP. as in the card was declined and to contact the bank(I used correct details) Then I used my moms credit card with the wrong exp date, declined. later wells fargo contacted her saying someone attempted to use her card.

I tried to keep hope that maybe I was one of the few that got the bad pop up but passed anyway but its hard to when I keep trying and I keep getting the bad pop up even 24+ hours later.

I checked breeze too since everyone said to check application status. Mine doesn't say pending anymore.

Under manage applications it says, Registered Nurse RN File #blahblah, with drop down options saying -RN exam repeat and change of address. Nothing in the License/Registration Information.

I just don't know what to do anymore. Im just feeling really down.

because I failed at 75 questions meaning I mustve messed up so badly it didn't even let me take the 190 questions left.

TL;DR

Feeling really down, took the nclex, stopped at 75q then got the bad pop up.

Hi I failed as well in my first try with 75 questions. I used Kaplan only and I felt that didn't help me at all. Their rationale were really bad but because everyone in my class was passing with it I decided to just go through it. Unfortunately, that didn't not work. I cried, prayed, and cried again and again. After 2 days, I told myself I will be a RN. This is just one last obstacle that's stopping me. So, I research a lot. Most people who didn't pass their first try using Kaplan used Uworld. So I'm thinking of using that. I also bought Saunders 7th ed to brush up on content. I felt like I was guessing a lot of the answers so Saunders will help me refresh my mind. I also have LaCharity. Last, I still have Kaplan so idk. I might use it for questions but we will see. I'm hopping on passing soon. I want to become a nurse and work already!! Ahhhh!! We can do this!!

If you failed with 75 questions, it wasn't the review course that you used that was the problem. Besides, you said that there were classmates of yours who used it and passed, it is not that Kaplan's "rationales are bad", you would best serve yourself by not looking to blame a review program for this failure.

A fail at 75 means that you either have an insufficient grasp of the content, or an inability to show that you can use the knowledge in practical application. In other words, critical thinking was not demonstrated here. Going back to a program that focuses on content first and strategies for applying that knowledge next will be crucial for you. Saunders is good to start for content problems, THEN you would benefit from Kaplan or Uworld. Good luck.

Thanks and you're probably right. I am lacking in content so I will definitely hit the books again. I will definitely pass next time!!

Hi, I am just wondering if you ended up passing the NCLEX. I am not sure this will help but if you didn't, I would recommend using the NCSBN web site NCLEX RN course. I will explain why. It allows you to fully understand what each area covers thereby allowing you the confidence to know what topics are in each section. I would suggest that you use UWORLD for its rationals and also if you are a visual learner it really has good visual aids. I would also suggest you get the lippincott app for NCLEX off playstore. This way you can do questions on the go. Make sure you get the lippincott app as they also do NCLEX Mastery but the lippincott app breaks down mental health, peds, surgical, maternity, with broader questions. I also did Saunders but only used an old disc to do questions off of a good resource for questions to. I hope this helps. It does come down to committing your time for sure. But the end result is an RN designation.
