question about vermont state

Suzanne4,

hi! im new in this forum, just wanna ask bout NCLEX licensure in vermont.is it true that if you apply in vermont you dont need to have a CGFNS/CES evaluation? what states will you able to work at if you passed their NCLEx exam? do they have a reciprocity in other states? how long will it take me to process my application? is it true that it would only take vermont a month to process my application? please help...thanks..

Ms. Suzanne,

I have the same questions as nurse plush.

How does one get an SSN? Can we apply for endorsement from VT to CA without the SSN? Although we can't get a CA license without the SSN, can we apply for a job in CA, get an employer willing to sponsor our visa, process our immigration papers, and then get an SSN and eventually a license?

Thank you.

I personally appiled at Vermont w/o a local license. I graduated last April,2006. And after passing my IELTS exam after graduating, I immediately applied at Vermont BON, last May.I attached a letter stating that I am not planning to practice nursing here but am planning to work in the U.S. I followed-up my application by calling them and they informed me to wait for my ATT this week. I also agree with Suzanne4 that witholding any information on the application will definitely pose a problem in the future. :wink2:

Hi edward12, can you please tell us where you got your application form for vermont state. I'm having trouble looking for it in the internet. Hope you could reply soon . Thanks

hi, here is the website; http://vtprofessionals.org/opr1/nurses/.

go to foreign nurse application, good luck!

Hi,

I think the Vermont BON is one of the fastest to process NCLEX applications, but I'd like to know how long would it take to get a license by endorsement say for California or New York once you already have the Vermont license? Thanks.

BTW, according to a release by the Vermont BON, Vermont is one of the most popular destinations for foreign first-time NCLEX aplicants, but only a few who pass the exams actually end up working in this US state.

one of the fastest, least expensive and least requirements (doesnt need local licensed from Phil.) - there is no fingerprint requirement for vermont.

cheers

What would be a wiser route to choose for a person hoping to get an RN license in ny??? would it be better off applying with the ny bon right away and apply for cvs-ny or going through Vermont BON first and then applying for endorsement in ny? since vermont takes the fastest??? however ny still needs cvs for endorsement??? it would cost much.. need help.. thanks..

new york requires the cvs for initial licensure and endorsement. you are going to need it no matter what before you will be issued a license for ny.

your choice, but it is crzy to go to vermont and then ny if you are concerned about money.

if i plan to take my initial nclex in vermont but don't plan to work there, do i have to work theres first before i can endorse my license to another state?

i've heard that in new mexico, people must work there before you can endorse your license since ppl have abused it as a step for initial licensure since its process is fast.

whoever told you that people must work there in new mexico before you can endorse is telling you a lot of bullsh*t...

same thing with vermont, you dont have to work there first before you can endorse to other states...

oh really, gosh people tend to come up with a lot of deceits and would misguide newbies to the nclex process thing...

thank you for clearing that up.

so i don't have to go to vermont to get my license but instead just apply online for it to be endorsed like ca?

btw

is it advisable to apply the exam for vt without the license # yet since it won't be released from 2-4 mos but to

send a

-photocopy of my claim slip

-certification of passing the board from the prc(phil.

regulation commission)

-letter why i haven't received my license yet

then forward the copy of my license when it is issued to vt bon?

thanks
