Hello everyone
Some good news...I have an interview for a staff nurse post in a private hospital..its an outpatient role and Im a bit stumped on a couple of the questions seeing as I only have 4 months exp as a qualified nurse
on the person specs it says they want me to have knowledge of
Health and safety issues and Quality Initiatives
Does any experienced nurse here know what sort of questions I may get asked in relation to those issues??
Any advice would be most appreciated please :)
Thanks everyone

Good luck with your interview
Health and safety issues I assume would be things like incident reporting, no blame culture, learning from mistakes. Understanding of these processes
Quality - dealing with complaints, what would you do if a patient was unhappy with the care recieved blah blah blah
Quality initiatives, how are you able to improve patient care, not sure about the private sector but I would look for ideas about fundimentals of care (I think it is the essence of care in England) depending on the area you will be going to then you could look at how to improve th patient experience - talk about engaging the patients to see what is important to them and identify areas for improvment from there.
Just relax and be yourself, I will keep my fingers crossed

Hello everyone,
i will be attending an interview at the university for my 1st degree programme in nursing on 27th of March 2007 at the John Moores University Liverpool. i will be glad if anyone can help me with this question, topical issue in Nursing or the NHS. i will be glad if anyone can give me an insight on how i can present this question during my group discussion. secondly i will be doing an academic presentation about the programme as well. i will also be glad if someone can also give me an insight on how the presentation will look like or likely questions to be asked during the presentation. i will like to prepare my self very for this interview, though i feel very nervous about the interview. i dont want to fail i really want to be successful because i need this career in my life. please i really need your help and will also be glad to welcome any advice on the above topic.

Hi, I worked 8 years in a private OPD. It was great because my role was really varied. I did blood tests, dressings, minor ops etc etc.
I really wish you all the luck in the world xxx
I suggest that you go buy this weeks copies of the main nursing mags on the market, they will give you plenty of topics for discussion. Check out the university website for information on the program so that you can prepare your presentation in a way that shows that you have researched their course.
I can't help you with what sort of questions etc but I'm sure someone will be along soon to do so.
