Question?

How difficult is it to get a license from the board...after satisfactory completion of all required academics?

Which board are you seeking licensure from?

I don't know what state you are in but when I took boards in Tx 11 years ago, I found it to be relatively easy. The only question on meds I had was "If the doc orders 1000mg Tylelnol and all you have on hand are 500mg tabs, How many tabs do you give?" If you did well in school, you should have no problems. Good Luck to you!! You can do it!

I am licensed in two states: California and Texas. Obtaining licensure in California is difficult because the boards of nursing still do everything by hand and snail mail, whereas the other states have automation and computers to cut excess time out of the process. I completed school in October and did not receive my California license number until January, even though I passed NCLEX on the first attempt. Obtaining licensure in Texas, on the other hand, was relatively easy.

Well, first you have to pass the NCLEX......after filling out alotta paperwork.

By the way, all LPNs/LVNs take the same state boards, regardless of your location. It's called the NCLEX-PN.

NCLEX is an individualized exam, and while some have it easy, others find it to be difficult. If you have made it through the program, and study well, passing NCLEX should not be impossible. Remain focused and think positive...it may be hard at times, but the end results are well worth it.

:mortarboard: I'm in Ohio so I don't know how licensure works in Georgia but insofar as the NCLEX, you'll take the same one as me except that most of the questions will differ. The NCLEX is national. I am graduating tomorrow and it's my understanding that it's difficult getting scheduled to take the NCLEX in the areas near me (greater Cincinnati) very soon. I will most likely go to Louisville to take it if I can get in there sooner (my oldest daughter lives there). I will just have to specify that I'm seeking licensure in Ohio.
