Question about previous degrees

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello I am an aspiring nurse looking to get into an ABSN program and I have a question about how my previous degree might effect my acceptance. I have a bachelors in social work with a 3.6 overall gpa. I also have an associates in criminal justice with a 3.0. Will both of these be viewed when they look over my applications or just my most resent. And if both are viewed would the 3.0 hurt me? I should have all my prerequisites done in another semester. Right now I'm standing with a strong 3.4 in them. Thank you for the time and answers.

It depends entirely on the school you're applying to. Some only care about pre-requisites, some want everything.

Depends on the school that you're applying to. At the school I applied to they go by a point system so there was a lot of ways to get points. you did get specific points depending on if you had a previous bachelors or associates degree. Good Luck

Since ABSN programs require a previous bachelors, I would assume that they would only look at the bachelor degree and not the associates.

Thank you all. I'll talk to some advisors about the requirements.
