Hi everyone, my name is Joe. I'm new to this site.
I am in a deep funk right now because I just took the PN boards and I feel like I did completely awful. I know this is the general feeling most people get after taking the boards but I really didn't understand a lot of the questions asked.
Here's my question. My test shut off after the 86th question. Which seems strange to me because I think the minimum for PN boards is 85. So if I were to get the minimum amount of questions wouldn't it have shut off at 85 and not 86?? Does anyone know if this is a good sign or a bad one? I've already read through a lot of threads and haven't seen anyone else who had 1 question above the minimum.
I'm stressing bad and I feel like I just did horrible. Can anyone give me some information regarding this matter?
Thanks in advance.

THE NUMBER OF QUESTIONS DOES NOT DETERMINE IF YOU PASSED OR FAILED. I HAD A FRIEND THAT GOT 86 QUESTIONS AND SHE PASSED. I TOOK MY EXAM AUG 5TH AN IT SHUT OFF AT 85 AND I PASSED. TRY NOT TO WORRY BECAUSE EVERYONE FEELS THIS WAY. WHAT TYPE OF QUESTIONS WERE YOU GETTING? I GOT MOSTLY PRIORITY, I GOT LIKE 8 CHECK ALL THE APPLY, 2 LABS,AND 2 DOSAGE CALCULATIONS. I THOUGHT I DIDNT PASS BECAUSE I KEPT ON GETTING CHECK ALL THAT APPLY. HAVE FAITH UNTIL YOU GET YOUR RESULTS. I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA AND I HAD TO WAIT A LITTLE OVER 3 WEEKS.
I had a lot of priority questions. Some pharm, some labs, a couple calculation dosages. There really wasn't one type of question that stuck out above the rest of them so it was generally mixed.
The reason I worry is because I hear if it goes beyond 85 questions it's saying you haven't necessarily gotten 50% of the questions right yet, so they're giving you more chances to meet that expectation. Then when it turned off at 86 questions I feel it's probably because I got the 86th question wrong and that was enough to figure I wasn't capable of answering 50% correctly.
Now it feels like I'm just rambling.
I live in Illinois, so I'll get the news good or bad in 2 days online. Cross your fingers because I need some luck STAT!

Hey, all I can say is WAIT for you results and try not to get too stressed out about it, when I took the test it shut off at 85 and all I could think about was all the questions that I KNEW I had got wrong.... I should have been focusing on the questions that I knew I got right because the correct outweighed the incorrect. Anyways, I thought I Failed but 2 days later I checked on the computer and found out that I passed. So... just wait and see... the news could be better than you think.
