Question about NCLEX-PN Exam

Published

Hi everyone, my name is Joe. I'm new to this site.

I am in a deep funk right now because I just took the PN boards and I feel like I did completely awful. I know this is the general feeling most people get after taking the boards but I really didn't understand a lot of the questions asked.

Here's my question. My test shut off after the 86th question. Which seems strange to me because I think the minimum for PN boards is 85. So if I were to get the minimum amount of questions wouldn't it have shut off at 85 and not 86?? Does anyone know if this is a good sign or a bad one? I've already read through a lot of threads and haven't seen anyone else who had 1 question above the minimum.

I'm stressing bad and I feel like I just did horrible. Can anyone give me some information regarding this matter?

Thanks in advance.

-Joe

congratulations you did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone! It's very nice of you all to congratulate me with such entusiasm. I'm very proud to be a nurse. This is my first real career move. I messed around for awhile after highschool with dead-end jobs(I'm now 27). But 5 years ago I decided I wanted to be a nurse. I have since been working full time and going to school taking 1-2 classes per semester getting my Gen. Eds/Pre-reqs done. Three years ago I became a CNA and have worked in a long term care center since. I also became a Geriatric Care Specialist a year after becoming a CNA. Now that I have my LPN and am in my second year seeking my associates degree in Registered Nursing, I'll soon be looking forward to a BSN.

The sky is the limit
