Question about Kaplan trainer CD

I took the 1st test on it....and I stink! I only scored 55%. I have been doing Saunders.....I do great on those questions. But since most of you agree Kaplan is very much like the Nclex....I wanted to practice w/it. I take my Nclex Aug 22 am I doomed? For some reason every time I start to practice questions, my husband wants to talk to me! I am trying to figure out if its his fault or mine for the lousy score! :angryfire Geezh I feel dumb!

Just keep on going. I can assure you Kaplan is really the way to go when it comes to getting to grips with how to get to the correct answer. When it comes to the real thing you will be very well prepared if you stick with it.

Saunders/Lippincott etc are excellent for brushing up on content & making sure you're sound in all areas but Kaplan questions are more like the real thing.

When I first started doing Kaplan I was scoring in the 50's too. About 3 weeks before my exam, I started doing more questions every day and my scores went up into the 60's and 70's even! Just practice, go over every single question's rationale, and I think that will help you. I did 100 questions the day before even though everyone said not to. However, for me, if I skipped a day of practice my scores ALWAYS went down. I passed with 75 questions, but I will just never know if doing those 100 questions the day before helped. All I know is that my NCLEX was just like Kaplan, font and everything. Good luck!! :)

me too.. i think kaplan questions are way harder, unlike saunders.. i got good scores on saunders but got only 50% on kaplan? how come? is the actual test more likely of kaplans or saunders???

Hey, I dreamed of failing NCLEX too...ugh...how that test had taken over my life...anyway, I scored 62% on q trainer 7 and my qbank average was about the same. I read each and every rationale...I passed last week with 75 questions. You will do fine....just read the rationales and understand why the correct answer is correct. Soon you'll be adding RN after your name!

you know i have a question to all who used kaplan question trainer and passed nclex and for those also who are using it as a preparation for the actual exam..

did u repeat answering the test 1-7 after finishing everything or just took it one time before you took nclex, if you repeated it, for how many times?
