When I stated some time ago, yo0u couldn't get into LPN school, if you had any police record. I don't know about todays nurse. The best way to find out is to contact your state BON.

I already have gotten into LPN school with an aggravated DUI on my record and graduated...I was wondering if anyone hires nurses with aggravated DUI on their record...do you know of anyone

Are you already licensed as an LPN? Some schools will admit a student but then the graduate is prohibited from licensure due to their background.

Facilities have more new graduate nurses to select from than in decades ago thus they have the ability to be more stringent on their selection criteria for staff. Some positions are very strict on hiring a person with a criminal conviction (such as a home health nurse may not be hired (or be terminated) if they have a DUI or other driving conviction as the ability to drive between clients and having an valid driver's license are job requirements)

What exactly is an 'aggravated' DUI? Is it more serious than a regular DUI, and if so, how? I'm curious, as I've never heard of this before and have no idea if it's a misdemeanor or felony. I wish you luck either way.

exactly, I know that there are some schools that will accept students on their ability to pay. The BVN put's on disciplinary meetings that are open to the public, I know that there are two scheduled for tomorrow and friday in California (Milpitas). This may give you an idea of what offenses are punishable by the board.

Before investing any more money, it is a good suggestion to check with your licensing board to ensure you will be able to nurse after school. The worst case scenario is that you are placed on probation with the board once you are licensed. I would be more concerned with that than getting a job.

Please look these things up so that you know what you are getting into. The internet is a great source but your state's BVN will be a better source for you.
