My school has their academic honors named differently than what is standard at other schools.
Anywhere else it would be called the "Dean's List" but at my school they call it an "Honor's List".
I want to be able to list this on my resume, but sometimes I wonder if I should, because it looks like I didn't "make the grade" so to speak.

I think you should list it. :) Why do you feel like it looks like you didn't make the grade?

IMO, you certainly should list whatever academic honors you get. You worked hard for them, so you should be proud of them :)
If you want, you can add your GPA too, but I've been told to list it only if it's over 3.5..
I had just never heard of the "honor's list" before I started this school, I had only heard of the Dean's List.
I'm also going to put the passing standard in my cover letter for my program as I really think it's an important distinction to make. Not all hospitals have an RN as a nurse recruiter, for whatever reason!
Oh that's a good idea to put the standard in there. I did my pre-reqs at a school whose requirement for Dean's List was 3.5 but at the school I transferred to for nursing it's a 3.75. I made the Dean's List at both for all semesters but obviously it means more at the school where the standards are higher. I don't even think I kept the certificates for the old school. I had a 4.0 and was like "Oh. Wowie. Got rewarded for a 3.5 or higher. Big deal." lol!
