Took my NCLEX today and feel scared that I wasn't thinking straight. I had no SATA Q's and no calculation questions. I think that I may have answered some of the 'easier' questions wrong because I was over-analyzing them, so I'm afraid I may not have even got to the 'harder level of questions. A lot of the questions were "who do you assess first" and "which patient statement signifies teaching was effective/ineffective" types. The thing that I am most scared of is that when I was doing practice questions, I usually got more of the so called "harder" analysis questions right more than the supposed "easier" ones. I'm so afraid that I messed up the easier ones and never even got a chance at the harder ones.. even though none of them seemed to have clear answers to me. Also, a friend of mine who just took the exam said that a lot of the questions he got didn't specifically give you the name of a disease or medical state in the question, but instead gave you more of the symptoms and you had to figure out for yourself what they were talking about. I am worried because almost all of my questions had an exact medical condition named in them, making me wonder if they were easier level questions.
My only hope that I did well is that I graduated top of my class, passed all of the ATI tests on the first try, passed the comprehensive ATI with a prediction of a 98% chance of passing on the NCLEX and had a good mix of questions. My test did not seem to stay focused in one area.
I also finished the test in under an hour. I am a fast test taker, but am worried that my nerves may have caused me to rush and overlook things? I have no idea. Right now I feel completely ill and can't stop thinking about it. Just needed to vent. Thanks all for listening, and if you have any input it is much appreciated!

I took the test this morning also. And your experience sounds alot like mine. I would say don't worry too much, it is not going to do you any good. I took the RN NCLEX today, and had the minimum questions. I had the same experience a year and a half ago when I took the LPN NCLEX, which I passed. I doubt that we could fail at 75 questions yet do very well in school.

I did the same thing this morning. No math, a few SATA and I know I missed some easy questions by over thinking. Oye

I also took my test today, I only had 1 calc, 1 SATA, lots of infection control, lots of meds, lots of prioritization. I feels similar to you in that the questions did not seem hard enough like maybe I didn't answer the easier question right. My test also ended at 75 but I am praying that was a good thing because the first time I took it I had 265 and did not pass. I am going to try and relax and not drive myself or my family crazy. I think you did fine.

Hang in there! The test questions aren't predetermined, so maybe you got the luck of the draw. I personally wouldn't want to have to answer SATA questions. Although it may seem like a pattern that many who have passed had tons of SATA questions, its not an absolute necessity. There are those who have had either 1-2 of those kind of questions that passed. It's alright to be scared afterwards, but try not to dwell on it so much. I'm pretty sure that you did the best you could, and that is something to be proud of. Keep your cool, reward yourself for your commitment to preparing for the NCLEX, and continue moving on forward whatever the outcome may be.

Hi,
Just got home from taking NCLEX. I had 75 questions. 1 SATA and 1 Math. Is 75 questions a good or a bad sign?
Good luck to all!

I took the NCLEX yesterday for the second time around. I stopped at 75 questions. Got 2 SATA and 1 med math calculation. I got mostly med, priority (who do you see first), and infection control questions. Are those types of questions considered low level questions???
I felt really confident when I left the test center, but after talking with friends and classmates in the field about my last question (it was a priority of "who to assess first" )and I answered based on ABCs and physical over psychosocial...Now I feel like I didn't pass. I don't know what to think and I am scared to know if I passed or not...
The first time around, I went to the very end 265 questions with 15 SATA, tons of meds, and 2 med math calculations. I was so nervous the first time around and did all the "no-nos" before/ and during testing (studying the night before, not relaxing, speeding through the test, or taking breaks). I knew the reason why I didn't pass the first time around was bc I was so nervous, anxious, and second guessed myself.
I wish you, me, and everyone else the best of luck in this exam. After reading everyone's posts..I no longer feel like I am alone in this.:wink2: It's a tough exam and don't let it get the best of you...We didnt go through years of nursing school to let some test tell us otherwise!
Best of luck!
