Can I get some stories of people going through the graduation and licensing process so I can get a rough time line for this whole thing? How long did you have between graduation and licensing?

I called the school and they basically told me that I had to wait for my graduation date...which is in June. After that I guess I can take the boards. I have all my applications and registrations complete. I'd like to speed things up since I live in Georgia and I have extra paperwork and waiting to do here. I've been studying for the NCLEX and as soon as I am able I'll schedule it.

Thanks!!

I actually passed the NCLEX (4/13/09)before my grad date (4/17/09). Texas went by my completion date of March 3, 2009. It just took forever for TX to find my affidavit from EC. Good luck:)

:D I too live in GA and believe me I understand your pain! I passed the CPNE March 1st it took about 5 weeks for them to update my status on My EC so that I could pay the grad fee. About two weeks after passing I sent a written request to the state board advisement office requesting the written affidavit of enrollement/completion and requested that it be mailed directly to me....they will release it as soon as you pay your grad fee. If you are testing for MN (which I highly recommend) you do not need to have officially graduated just need your completion date once your account is updated. Once I had my completion date which was March 26th I applied with the MN BON for licensure by exam. My official grad date was April 17th. I received my ATT from Mn BON on April 9th, took NCLEX April 13th.....April 14th the MN BON website showed that I had passed NCLEX, my RN license # was posted on April 16th! The following day I sent everything to the GA BON...the affidavit of enrollment, rule waiver petition ect ect.. For GA you now have to do the fingerprinting and background check also and enroll for NURSYS license verification which it took about a week for my license to show up for me to register.

:D That is why I requested that EC mail everything directly to me so I could send everything in at once.....less chances of the BON losing something!

I would just take the waiting time as built-in study time. Since I'm waiting for a CPNE date, I just wish I were in your shoes!

Good luck on your CPNE! I'm definitely studying as if I already have a date.

Do you still have to apply through endorsement? With law 475 signed by the governor on the 29th can you just now apply for license directly to the GA BON? Oh also where did you take your CPNE?

Completed CPNE 6/15/08, processed for graduation 7/9/08, received ATT 7/17/08, NCLEX 8/6/08, done! :) Yes, the wait was frustrating -- standing between me and a good-sized pay raise was that wait from 6/15 to 7/17. But I also realized that EC doesn't just have a nursing program, and they weren't only processing my graduation package for a month. (Sure felt like it, though. LOL)

Also, in Virginia we can take the NCLEX before our graduation date. My grad date was 8/15, and I took the NCLEX the week before. This varies from state to state.

I passed the CPNE on Jan 7th. I missed the Feb graduation date so I had to wait until March 20th to graduate. I applied to my BON (They will only process the application with a graduation date on the transcript so I HAD to wait to graduate first- other states sometimes let you register for the NCLEX before the graduation date).

Anyway, I had EC directly send my transcripts on March 20th. I got my ATT on April 7th, tested April 8th and had my RN April 10th- I wasted no time:D

Thanks :D MN was extremely quick I was rather impressed. I'm coming up on a month for GA! My application was reviewed on 5/6 and they notified me I didn't disclose a charge and had to write a letter of explanation ect ect.....It was a freakin bad check charge from back in 2001 that I had forgotten all about:angryfire So I got all of the stuff together and overnighted it to the BON and now I'm back to the waiting game:banghead:
