PVAMU Spring 2011

Published

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for PVAMU CON 2011 hopefulls! As you will see, I have a lot of questions and concerns! I am at Texas Southern University and I am applying for spring 2011. My science, core, and overall GPA's are above a 3.5 and i have taking the HESI and recieved 84 on math and grammar, 85 on reading comp, but i missed the A&P by 3pts.. i made a 72:mad:! But it was b/c i was taking the exam for UT and they require the vocab and i before i began the A&P section I was crying b/c i failed the vocab section.. i was ******! Anyways, any adive on what to study for the vocab section or A&P section (even though i found it somewhat easy)? I hope this thread will help us in the long run! :)

And if there is already a thread for sorry didnt find it!

Thanks! Ok, Im glad we can use our family insurance. Im under my dads but I though they wanted us to still go out and get our own. I ended up just going and getting the titres done and luckily for me, insurance covered everything (shockingly).

I have a question for the current nursing students at PVAMU..

Do you guys get the summer off? or do you have the option to take some classes during summer? Thank you

Specializes in nurses assistant way back when....

Hey,

all of u guys at PVAMU nursing program, i hope you post back and let us know how you like the school. A question, if you live in houston, how long does it take you to get to classes? I've heard houston's traffic is horrible and I know that prairie view is something like 30 miles outside, but i wonder how long it takes to get there.

Pls is anybody willing to have me ride with him/her to the Main Campus for december 8th orientation from Houston, Southwest precisely?

sorry favour08, i will be coming from out of town to go there, otherwise i would love to help a classmate out!

Hey ariess2011:

You are not required to take summer school, but you have the option to take it to lighten your course load in Fall. In summer, you can take one course plus an elective (optional) which lasts 10 weeks.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello knottygirl:

I am semester 1 student.. I like the school and the program. The course load is acceptable and it's doable. College of Nursing is in Houston Medical Center and all nursing classes are held here. I have never drove to PVAMU main campus, therefore I don't know how long is the drive.

I hope I have answered your question.

Thanks Lovely_kanwal4u! That was helpful!!

@favour08, if you still need a ride, i can help you out..i live on da sw side too..pm me

akwugo7, i really do need help with transportation to the main campus still. Thanks for your kind gesture. How do i contact you, i really do not know if we are allowed to leave contact numbers on here.

pv nursing students (not transfer nursing students) have an orientation tomorro. ill share any info that may be benificial to yall tomoro, after the meeting (though i doubt there will be benificial info, seeing as yall jus had yalls own orientation ). byee :heartbeat

yea, let us know. our (transfer students) orientation was just a tour around the school, info about applying and extra stuff that seemed informative to those interested in applying. we did found out about parking. we get to purchase a parking permit which ranges between $145-$160, uniform, and all extras will be purchased at the orientation in january! i guess we all just have to make sure we attend wednesday, dec 8th's orientation to register for classes and make sure our financial aid is taken care of. ill post anything else i can remember.
