I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for PVAMU CON 2011 hopefulls! As you will see, I have a lot of questions and concerns! I am at Texas Southern University and I am applying for spring 2011. My science, core, and overall GPA's are above a 3.5 and i have taking the HESI and recieved 84 on math and grammar, 85 on reading comp, but i missed the A&P by 3pts.. i made a 72:mad:! But it was b/c i was taking the exam for UT and they require the vocab and i before i began the A&P section I was crying b/c i failed the vocab section.. i was ******! Anyways, any adive on what to study for the vocab section or A&P section (even though i found it somewhat easy)? I hope this thread will help us in the long run! :)
And if there is already a thread for sorry didnt find it!
Hey guys, I went to the office to get a background check form, they took my information and printed it out. What make it certified? I turned in all the required documents maybe almost 2 weeks ago and I now worried that they didnt put a special seal or stamp after they printed it out.
I requested a certified background check that was faxed to me too. Mine has a stamp on it but no special seal, if yours doesn't look right I'm sure the CON will notify you, or if you're worried you can call and ask them if they'll accept it?
Hey guys also added with provisional acceptance! Its been hard tryna get in touch with people at the SON so if any of yall could help, I have a few questions.
Did anyone fill out the scholarship application? Do we need to report the aid we got for fall if from another school? And for the gpa, do they want us to report our nursing GPA or overall gpa from all other schools attended?
For the insurance, I noticed on the PV CON website, it said we need Liability Insurance (Basic BSN Program --it says it under Admission Procedures for Acceptance to Clinical Studies Upper Division) but the admission packet said we needed HEALTH insurance. These are two different things--did anyone else notice that? It's a bit confusing.
Finally, I have the proper documentation showing my immunization history but did they want titres from us if the vaccinations are not recently done? If so, does anyone know where they do Titres for a cheap price?
im on my dad health insurance plan and when i asked miss H she said that was fine, and just provide a copy of the health insurance card with my name on it, but imma email mrs hutchins to be sure. anyone else know? As for the vaccinations, they just want them done. the only one that has to be recent (in the last 10 years) is the tetnus shots. and i dont know the answers to the rest of your questions, sorry
this is wat mrs H just sent me regarding health insurance:
That is fine to include a copy of your family insurance card. Also make sure you have documentation of a tetnis diphtheria booster less than 10 years old. Also either MMR VACCINE OR TITERS ALSO ALL HEP B VACCINES (3) AND A VARICELLA TITER OR 2 SHOTS. REVIEW YOUR PACKET AND MAKE SURE THIS IS all included.
