Does anyone do the growing-up talk in fourth grade? My P&G program materials just came so we are doing the talk next week, but for a lot of girls, it's closing the barn door after the horses are out. I will for sure do the program without the samples etc next year and then hand them out when they arrive, but wondering if anyone out there does it in 4th grade.

Yes, I talk to both the 4th and 5th grade girls using the P&G program (still waiting for mine to come, so haven't scheduled it yet), but there are usually a few that have already started their cycles, but for alot of them, this is new info.

I don't plan to talk about it in 4th grade, but leave enough time in questions - if they initiate it themselves, I dive in!

i got half of my p&g stuff today. The boys stuff was loose bottles of body wash and no cutesy little books. No "girls stuff" yet. We'll see what monday brings. The funny part was that i sent them a "where's my stuff" email today. I was going to send a disregard email until i realized i only got half the order.

I do 5th grade and even though some have already started they all say they've learned stuff they didn't know and feel better to know what's normal and how to handle different situations that may come up.

I was worried about my supplies too but got them about 2 weeks after I emailed them. I've heard rumors they may not be supplying samples every year anymore. Mine also came with loose body wash for boys but i did get a separate pack of boys booklets. I also got girls booklets with sample deodorants plus a box of pads I will just open and pass out one to each.

P&G seemed a little unorganized this year but I'm grateful for any free stuff I can get!

My DD (in 5th grade now) got it last year and this year, which is nice. The focus in 5th is a little more specific I guess.

Yes, I do. I send permission forms home with all 4th grade girls a week ahead of time. If it’s not returned signed by parents, they do not get to watch. I’ve never had a parent not return it. I have had parents call to question what the film is about, even though I put it on the form lol. They want details, I get it. I always do mine the Friday before spring break so they have lots of time to ask their parents any question they want lol! I bring all of the girls in at the end of the day and show the film. I decorated a cute little pink box and it’s the “comment box”. I pass out pens and index cards at the beginning and tell them to write down anything they hear in the video that concerns them or that they have questions about. They can either anonymously place their index card in the box as its passed around after the video or they can save the index card and ask their mom when they get home. I answer all of the questions that aren’t in appropriate and tell them if I did not answer your question, that means you need to ask your mother lol. I pass out the samples as they are leaving the “meeting”. It’s the end of the day so I don’t have to worry about them playing with them all day. The comment box is a hit though!
