PTO accrual

Hi everyone,

I am considering a new position and the PTO accrual for the first year of employment is next to nothing. Would you mind sharing with me the percentage that your facility uses for the first year of employment?

Don't forget they made add official holidays as PTO. That would bring up the total hours for the year.

We get ~8 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks). We can take off weeks at a time but we have to get approved by the manager first. She doesn't seem to mind when we take off.

We're a percentage, so the more you work, the more you earn, I can't remember first year rate but I'm at 8% now after 3 yrs, 9% would be hit at 5 yrs

Thanks everyone for your input! Year one earns 1.5hrs per pay period (72 hours). Year 2-4 earns 4.5 hrs per pay period.

we gain 9 hours of PTO every two weeks, no separate sick time. Holidays pay double time. You gain PTO's through orientation, but can't use them until after the 90 day probationary time.

We accrue PTO at 9.23% and EIB (employee illness bank) at 2.69%. After 5 years you get 40 more hours of vacay time throughout the year.

0-3 years .0885 PTO hours earned per hour. Max earned per pay period is 7.08. PTO Earned per year is 184hrs/23 days.

We can start using it as soon as we have it which is our first pay check. You can carry up to 160 hrs over into the next year. I have been working 3.5 months and believe I have like 47 hrs or something close to that so far.

My organization gives me 10 hrs PTO and 10 hrs sick leave per month. Accrual began immediately upon hire and I took time off 5 months after I started. However, I don't work in a hospital environment and I'm sure that makes a big difference.
