Providence TIPS New Grad May 2022

Published

Hi!

I didn't see a board for Providence SoCal TIPS New grad Residency program for May 2022, so I thought I'd start one.

I applied for the program on February 10th. I applied to both Providence St. Joseph Burbank and Providence Holy Cross Mission hills- Externally. Right after I received the self-paced text screen questions. On February 15th, I got an email to schedule a live video interview. But when I went to schedule it on the website, it said there wasn't any available dates or times. I emailed the recruiter and she said that they were waiting to see if they were going to open up more interviews as all of them had been taken. She said they were trying to add more dates.

Where is everyone in this process? and if you got an invitation to interview-- did you have the same problem?

To those who got hired, congrats! I'm going to apply when the application opens up next. Any interview tips? I'm applying to Holy Cross specifically so if there are any tips you could give me for an interview at that hospital that would be great

Hi everyone.. quick question. Do we need to submit an application to each hospital we’re interested in or just to one? Because in the instructions to apply it says only submit an application to your top hospital?

I don’t think it would hurt to submit separate applications, especially if they are in different regions

Thank you! I ended up speaking with a recruiter and they told me you can only apply to your top choice hospital.

Good luck with the process! ?

How was the interview process for those who got accepted? Any questions you didn’t expect them to ask? And are there clinical scenarios? Thank you!

My interview is tomorrow and I just got a reminder email from the recruiter saying that it'll be a behavioral based interview where they will ask us to provide actual patient scenarios that answer the question. My actual interview confirmation email said they will ask about "difficult patient scenarios and how you have helped previous work teams thrive". They also mentioned that we should be prepared to talk about why we want to work for Providence and that unit as well as our relevant work experience. I'll update with my actual questions after I finish tomorrow ?

I think interviews differed from managers and facilities… but read Providence’s mission and values. Know a little bit about the facility (ministry) that you will be interviewing with, and have a few questions ready to ask the hiring manager.

Prep on basic behavioral nursing questions that you can Google, you got this!

Good luck! ??

The hiring managers know that you’re a new grad, so they don’t expect you to know everything. They also look for how you think and process situations. Don’t be discouraged!! ?

Hello everyone.

I'm hoping I can receive some input from the previous cohort. I applied to the TIP program in the Los Angeles area. My application changed yesterday and showed "RN Resident- unit of my first choice." From reading this thread, it seems like many people who got an offer had this as well. I was wondering if this is the place where I will be starting my residency in... or if there was a different case for anyone else.
