Providence TIP September 2022

Hi all! I applied yesterday to the Providence TIP for SoCal (specifically at Holy Cross) and immediately got a text interview request. The text interview was clarifying that I'll be able to take the NCLEX in time, what units I want to work for, etc. Right after I submitted that I got an interview request!

Mine updated before I got the offer, a few days after my interview on May 25th. I got an unofficial offer via email with my day shift assignment, salary, start date etc. they said their system is down until July 5th and that’s when they would email me the official offer to sign. 

Congratulations! I just received my unofficial offer letter as well! It was under my junk tab for some reason.

Should I be worried if my portal changed with an updated unit, but I haven't received any email or phone communication?

Sounds like St Joes was active today! Hopefully Holy Cross will be next.

For those who got offers today, did your offer match your portal in terms of what shift you were assigned? Like if your portal said night on the RN resident submission, did you get assigned night?

Mine had said “variable” so I assumed it was rotating shifts. But my offer said “day” shift which I’m super happy about!

Both my portal and offer said “variable”

I got my phone call yesterday for ER nights. It matched the position in the portal they generated for me. 

Interesting points - they want a verbal yes/no over the phone. They told me this is because they are doing onboarding over the Summer (even if you aren't licensed) and will be using a new software. So an official offer letter to sign won't come until early July, but they want a verbal confirmation so they can get us enrolled in their training program. 

I have until next Monday to make a decision, currently weighing another offer But since I'm local, they will be letting me visit the ER and the nurse educator for the unit (I wasn't interviewed by ER staff). Very much considering this offer, especially since they are working with me so well.

That's awesome. Didn't know they offered visits. I hope you like the ED there. I've heard good things about the st johns ED from a couple of acquaintances. The director of critical care/emergency services is an amazing leader as well. I took the offer to start there this September.

It did! mine matched the shift I was assigned on the portal. Also, congrats on your official offer! glad we finally heard back!

My portal updated almost two weeks ago and I received an email last Thursday that they were preparing an offer for that unit. Haven't gotten a call or the official offer yet though.

I literally JUST got my offer letter from HR! Same unit and shift as it was in my portal...yay! I applied to Holy Cross
