Has anybody else applied for Providence Holy Cross in Mission Hills for June 2023 cohort?
I interviewed 03/23 and they said in ~2weeks we will hear back. I wanted to start this thread to share our process through this ?

Oh awesome! I'm starting in the ICU. Our manager just sent an email on Wednesday, but it was brief. She did say our first two weeks of orientation are Monday-Friday 8-4. I wasn't able to personal message you either ?

Oh damn, I thought it was only 1 week Monday-Friday. I might be screwed if its 2 weeks.

I know, I also thought it was just the first week and I was hoping some of it would be virtual. Most of the nurses I've talked to that have done TIPS said the first month or so is pretty heavy, since we have a bunch of classes to do. Anddd we may have extra classes depending on the unit we're in. Will you be working while we're going through orientation?

I'm working right now doing IV hydration and told my boss I just need 1 week off. I'm sure they will accommodate me. When I went to the meet and greet in the parking lot for Torrance, the managers said the first week mon-fri for orientation then you work 2 nights and 1 day (Thursday) is classes. I don't think they expect us to work more than 40 hours. My work knows I'm going to the hospital and they have always been flexible but it gets tough since we don't know our schedule until the last minute.

Nice!! Maybe the orientation is different for each unit? I'm in the same boat, and it's stressful having to wait until the last minute for our schedule. My manager said the TIPS educator should be reaching out to us 2 weeks before we start with more information.

I don't know about Providence specifically.
But other new grad programs have you take certifications, like EKG, ACLS, NRP, etc., and for those, there are exams. I wouldn't think HW but definitely times when we have to review things on our own.
